    Other great things in OP:

How he goes out of his way and dedecates whole volumes to flashbacks which are all awesom and great for the story.

The way his art has evolved and the attention to detail in the big scenes with lot's of people

    finding Pandaman =D YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!
-Whale....Lion...? ....no..hmmm...elephant?......fish? ....Mom what do I have again?

    -Cancer Honey.

    Summary of how OP works:

    -Go to new island
-Meet a bunch of new characters good and bad
    -Backstory
    -Fight
-If good guys lose, they'll eventually get stronger
    -Win
-Possibly gain a new crew member
    -Repeat cycle

OP follows this specific structure throughout all the adventures with the exception of some differences now. The SH are now separated; however this style is still consistent even if it's only focused on Luffy only. I'm starting to find this structure rather boring if the back story is really lacking for the side characters and villains. I often compare some of the arcs to Arabasta because it's the first and only consistent story-telling (imo), that's actually pretty good at introducing a good villain with a clear plan to actually take over the world. The new characters were great along with a nice story that sets up the plot in many ways; for instance, Ace and the Polygreigh. The other arcs seem to be lacking in originality with the exception of the war going on at the moment, which is crazy good sh*t going on.

I also have problems with some of the power levels, especially that of the SHs. I've always wondered who is more powerful, Zoro or Sanji? The biggest problem is that Luffy seems to be a lot stronger than most of his crew members. It seems like Oda might change that, hence why he separated all of them to different islands. I have yet to see Sanji or anyone else fight at a SB level (Zoro will inevitably beat Mihawk).

That's all the ranting I have for OP. Other than that, amazing characters and pretty interesting series even though it has a predictable story structure. No doubt, OP is better than Naruto and Bleach in terms of character and humour.
etufo: HS is most likely going to die sooner or later. Who will kill the cool character killer?

Popo: well, obviously going by that logic, HS will have to kill himself...

Well I agree with that cycle up until alabasta, but after that the things you mentioned just kinda happen randomly ( whith the exception of fighting in every arc ^^ hey it's shounen).

The difference in power is a good thing IMO, since it isn't solely about power but also about the managing of tasks. Franky Chopper Nami and Usop are far more valuable on a ship than Zorro, Luffy and Robine and in certain other situations only they can overcome an obstical.

For the story being predictable........ I can't agree at all.

I never saw these things coming:
-they weren't able to stop the war
-The city of gold being in the sky
    - Duval^^
    - Ace dying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    - them getting seperated
    - loosing to a guy so early on in the story (smoker)
    - that Luffy was in the giant snake
    - The whole Foxy arc and their whacky games / fights
    - Nami allready being a part of a different pirate crew
    - Boa falling for Luffy
    - brooke being the last one of La Boums lost crew
    - the strongest crewmembers being captured by Morias henchmen
-I had no Idea what was going on whith Robine in the water 7 arc (not ennies Lobbie)
    -lots and lots more.........

and it's always great to find out what someones power is.
-Whale....Lion...? ....no..hmmm...elephant?......fish? ....Mom what do I have again?

    -Cancer Honey.

I will agree with you on "The structure being predictable" but other than that the story itself is totally wild and leaves even the best manga pundits scratching their heads and down right refusing to even make an attempt to try to predict Oda's train of though. They are pirates sailing the seas so thats whats happen when you sail the world (you encounter new friends, allies and enemies. Its a never ending cycle of mystery and adventure thats why, althought "predictable" in structure, if done right (Oda is God) its an awesome time. Whisky's response was spot on. All in all Oda has enough skill and material to milk out OP at a moderate pace for years to come. After the Genryusai is toppled then OP will end.

I like the 'spot the pandaman' in OP. I still wonder how some readers can see it even when the character is drawn pretty small.
