Thread: Hancock, Luffy's mother ?

I was searching for some infos about Hancock and I stumbled upon several threads speculating she might be Luffy's mother. At first it seemed extremely silly, but even if I am still not convinced at all I must say I find this this theory quite interesting now.

The (more or less far fetched) arguments are :
- The mark Hancock has on her back reminded Luffy of something. It could be a recollection of his mother's back he engraved into his mind when he was still with her, as a baby.
- Lola is not likely to be her daughter (given how ugly she is... but who knows :s) => maybe Amazons' babies are exchanged with females when they are male, and Lola took Luffy's place ?
- maybe her powers don't work on him because he unconsciously recognized she was her mother, which helps him avoid venal thoughts.
- a funny one I read elsewhere : maybe Kuma sent Luffy in this land because he was crying after his mama at the time xD
- it does seem Luffy won't be beating the Amazon's to the pulp, and will ally (at least temporarily) with Hancock, as it would be very poor scenaristically for Luffy to come and beat one of the Shichibukai "finger in the nose". This theory could help reverse the situation.

So, what do you think ?

I hate this theory that Hancock is Luffy's mother but i like the theory that the reason luffy cant be turned to stone is because deep down he knows thats his mother an lets be real no one's sexually attracted to their mother. (Unless your a certain greek by the name of Oedipus). Yea, check him out why your on the interent wasting away.

i disagree with any relation between luffy and hancock either unless oda-sensei stated as that but here my point bout hancock and her sisters.

hancock: that which you have seen,that which lies upon our backs..is something that must never be seen, even if we die.

means that the three of them acquire the same thing on their backs.

as far as we know, there's pair of eye but the way luffy's impression that's not look like any regular eye if there is 'eye'..
and i don't think it'll be pair of wing like skypea's cuz it just too big to cover by hancock slim body when we seen her naked..
the rest is tattoo of any others pirate such as WB's, shank's, roger's or else..
from the history by one of kuja's pirate before, the three gorgon sister fighting/killing medusa(am i correct?) and cursed (or given power) to make people turn into stone..up till now only hancock show that power not both of her sisters yet...
if there's any pirate tattoo on their back, when could be they join others pirate actually?

honestly, i don't know what it is and i don't feel like want to figure it out coz i affraid duval scene will happen again make me such a dumbass at that time compared to oda-sensei genius hahaha..

While I don't entirely disagree. I think Boa Hancock being Luffy's mother is very unlikely but not impossible. What would be interesting is if maybe there is a tattoo on Hancock's back and that tattoo is the same as what's on Monkey D. Dragon's face. :O

Hmm I don't think these events are very likely... it's all a bit far fetched.

I personally think that it's much, much more likely that the sign on Hancock's back is actually a part of the Ancient History that was lost, or something like that.

That would explain why Luffy thinks it familiar and why the three sisters never allow anyone to see what's on their back.

And the story that anyone who sees Hancock's back turns into stone could just be a story they tell... coz we all know that Hancock doesn't need a sign to turn people into stone.

And it seems to me that Kumar could actually have been helping the Strawhats... if he left them be the crew could have very easily died... but instead he transported them all elsewhere. And if that's the case then maybe there's something important Kumar wanted Luffu to discover on the island the island... i.e. whatever's written on Luffy's back.

Either way whatever's on Hancock's back must be very important.

But that's all just my guess. Anything could happen :P

my personal theory is that hancock and her sisters are actually one and is medusa. I mean think about it, she can turn people to stone and the other two can turn into giant snakes. Maybe they used to be just 1 creature called medusa and then when the real hancock and her sisters went to fight medusa, medusa killed them, then separated her body into 3 to pretend to be them.

I really don´t want her to be his mother. Father: Most Wanted Man.Grandfather: Vice Admiral. Brother :2nd (hope I´m right xD) Division captain. And now Mother: Shichibukai & Empress Hancock?
That´d be lame....
But if it´s gonna be that way Oda´ll make it cool....somehow...

... does anyone else think that the marks on their backs is simply the world government symbol. kinda like rob lucci. It would make sence in a way. Boa being luffy's mom would be kind of, off, in my opinion. It just makes no sence

I think the mother thing would be pretty cool, actually.

I think it would make less sense if they had the Lost History on their backs. How old do you think these girls are?
