    I draw a lot myself, and I'm actually chuckling at the comparison Shautieh put up. Awesome to see the progress in Oda's work.

    I really do prefer the new style; very sharp and clean, especially for the action/shadow lines. And Chopper is actually cute now. 8 D;;

    i'd say his older style is more cartoonish(with the exception of chopper), while his current one is simply more refined due to practice.

    and I agree with syntic, chopper started out kinda ugly, but now he's really cute.

    Is it just me or do I see Luffy's scar alternate between which eye it is under in Shautieh's pictures?

    It is not you, there are 2 images where his scar is on his right side instead of the left. I don't know if these errors were made in the Japanese manga or not...

    I think he just got used to draw more. Thats it.
    Thas Odas first big success, therefore he draws all day now and is improving his skills so he is able to put more detail into the characters.

    His style hasnt changed, but the drawings have all more details, which is pretty good.

    If you compare Akira Toriyamas Dragonball with the latter Dragonball Z you will undoubtly notice the same in that series.

    With Dragonball, and Dragonball Z. I'd actually say that while DBZ has more refinement and stronger defined lines Dragonball alone had better drawings and a bigger touch of detail. For me it felt he got lazy after a while.
