Thread: Couldn't Ao Kiji use heat too?

I've read till chapter 460 now and i think i like one piece but what bothers me is that sometimes it gets a little unrealitic.

for example Ao Kiji. from what i'v seen he can manipulate the movement of molecules or better said the thermal motion.

But that would mean he could also create heat since heat and coldness are the same physical thermodynamic process, arent they?

of cause the same goes for ace. he should be able to use ice as well.

and why does smoke count as an logia typ but wax from mr.3 doesnt?

Wax isn't an "element" and in certain religious (druidic? I forget what my friend is) "Smoke" is the sub element to fire.

Also: its anime, their powers don't have to be physically sound.

First thing first: Rule #1) NEVER try to understand a manga through laws of physics.

But if you really want to go down that route, to create a low temperature in a system, energy has to be drawn away from that very system. The only problem here is the law of conservation of energy where the energy drawn has to go somewhere. My theory is that the energy goes into Aokiji himself and he lets it out to the atmosphere slowly as he sleeps.

Same can be said for Ace. Since Ace is Luffy's brother, it is safe to assume that he is also a big napper.

Smoker's ability is considered a Logia because Oda claimed it that way. It also shows the basic elements of a typical Logia fruit user as he is immune to nearly all physical hits with very small exceptions and his fruit isn't of something that is a solid like rubber and wax.

Mr.3 wasnt completely wax.
Same goes for Mr.1. He was full iron, but not Logia.

Logia types are always invincible and can let pass things through their body.
All attacks a nullified, except if they are the elemental weakness of the Logia type.

The only exception for this Logia law is the Darkness fruit of Blackbeard, as he said himself.


I'm not sure about Aokiji, though.
I cant remember when he said that he controls the movement of molecules... all I know is that he possesses the power of ice.
And since ice is NOT the same as decrease of molecular movement, its reasonable why he cant heat up things.

I would say that they are the opposite thermodynamic process', one requiers you to remove energy, the other to ad energy. So, looking on it like that the only question is where the energy goes or comes from, but it's manga.
So it goes out to space where it plays with aliens.

yeah I like this thread, but I think helios' looking a little too deep. I mean you are applying real world logic to an ability that was caused by eating a piece of fruit. I think that the fruits give pretty specific powers so unless there is a thermal motion fruit out there you won't have to think that hard about it.

Same questions go to Luffy how is he able to heat up his body ;p Logic doesn't work in One Piece - damn, Noro Noro beam - wtf is that ;p
