Thread: Could Monkey D. Dragon be a former Marine Admiral?

I just wondered what you guys think of this theory, yes there are a couple of holes but I think it's pretty interesting.

We all know that Oda likes using Myths, Legends and Fables (fable backwards = Elbaf btw) and converting them, and as i was reading some old chinese myths when somthing hit me.

There are said to be 4 seas in chinese mythology North, South, East and West....(hmmm that sounds familure)

They in turn are represented by four colors Yellow, Blue, White and Red....(hmmmm those colors are familure too..)

They have also been represented by different animals over time including a Monkey, a Bird, a Dragon, and a Dog....(that was when something pinged)

A north sea with a yellow monkey =Admiral Kizaru??
A south sea with a blue bird = Admiral Aokiji??
A west sea with a red dog = Admiral Akainu??

Which just leaves the East sea with a white dragon

This is all speculation but it would explaine why Dragon is the most wanted man alive. After all if one of the World Goverments top people defected and turned against them they would probably want him dead no matter what...

Also considering how much Garp was trying to train Luffy into becoming a Marine its a safe bet to say he did the same with his own son.

At this point, everything is possible, but I wouldn't say that this theory is far-fetched at all.

Although it looks somewhat stupid that Dragon was in higher position than his father....

Not really if you accept the idea that the current generation will surpass previous generations. Like in Naruto and DBZ.

The biggest hole I've found was if Dragon was apart of the Marines why did the Marines know nothing about Dragon's Origins?

Naah, Goku was still the strongest. Son Gohan only beat Cell, then he was useless...

What about Dragon's origin ? That he was Garp son ? That could be easily explained - only old enough members would remember - no one talks about it.

Its plausible... This is almost like a mini Tengu theory... >_>

... oh well I can run with this, it seems likely and doesn't require much of a stretch in thought.

On the other hand, if Dragon really was an admiral, there's no way that people wouldn't know about it. Dragon can't be much older than 40-50-ish or so, based on his looks and that Luffy's about 20 years old. Given this, we can conclude that Dragon must have been at least 25-30 years old when he became an admiral if we factor in his childhood and time spent climbing through the ranks- that would mean that he must have defected about 20 years before the present date, give or take a few years.

Therefore, there's no way that educated people (say, Robin) wouldn't know that Dragon indeed had been an admiral at some point in time, especially when admirals are really famous people. After all, Robin knew all other admirals by name, why wouldn't she know about the fourth one?

In conclusion, if Dragon was an admiral in the past, people who should know (again, Robin) haven't seen fit to mention this. It is possible that this is the case, but I find it unlikely given the whole exposé of Luffy's family relations.

not really because the cps are known but cp9 was ecretive so maybee dragon was an admiral that wasnt talke dabout as much and since he turned bad he became the most wanted man

the theory is really interesting and its quite possible as well...

in my opinion if dragon was an admiral, the people that hunt him will at least know his...
but they know dragon full name is only because garp said it unintentionally...
except, the fourth admiral is hidden just like cp9...and only sengoku and garp that know about it,,,
