Thread: What if Vivi...

So I am watching old One Piece with my friend and I'm trying not to spoil the fact that Vivi leaves the crew. Then he asked me a question I couldn't bs my way out of, "What is Vivi going to do for the crew after this arc? Luffy, Sanj and Zoro are strong, Nami is the navigator, and Ussop is the comic relief."

So I guess my question is what do you think Oda would have done with Vivi had he made her part of the crew? Would she have gotten alot stronger like Ussop and Nami or found another skill ala Ussop's handyman abilities that grow as the story goes on or do you think that she was too weak to do anything? I personally think that she would have been a great quasi-leader that would have made the group more stable and together instead of running off in every direction every time something came up (Quatre from Gundam Wing comes to mind).

Just something I thought I'd bring up and thanks for the input ahead of time.

she would've been the one smiling at usopp, luffy and chopper's stupid acts and also be one of the more serious members of the crew and act as a big sister(a role that we can see is now taken by robin).

+1, and hopefully we got Robin instead of her

i think the role she would have is already shared by nami and robin. beside, if she had to get stronger, it should not be via ussop because it's already nami's case and then it would not have been interesting

If Vivi did come with them, I doubt she had the nerve to attack Enies Lobby.

She would eat a DF obviously

naw, Oda has avoided giving the crew power ups via DF so i doubt vivi would eat one. All members who have such powers had them upon joining.

+ I <3 what Oda's done with Robin, shes one of my favorite characters now.

While I agree with the "Boobs, fanservice, sanji" comment I also agree with the "leader" comment that was brought up.

Vivi seems to me like the brains.

Sanji and Zoro are to much of hot heads. Robin is intelligent but not a leader. Chopper is their back up. Nami is intelligent and a leader but also a hot head and rushes away with things generally. Luffy is a true leader but an idiot (though he knows sense when he hears it and takes such knowledge from the crew, i.e. "good leader")

So Yeah, I see Vivi as and intelligent leader like Nami, but less of a hothead and shown more of a leader role (Nami doesn't lead much it seems, though she does give orders and direction in the plot a lot)
