One Piece plot holes?
Looking in the other manga threads someone's always talking about some plot hole everytime a new chapter comes out. Which made me wonder if there are any plot holes in OP, and if so how come hardly anyone talks about it?
I've been trying to find plot holes but either there aren't any substantial ones or I'm just too biased.
So are there any in your opinion?? Or is this manga just that great?
this manga is just that great :)
seriously though, the only thing that is kinda like a plothole is the fact that there is a book that describes the ability and shape of all known devil fruits. If there's only one of each, then how do they know what the ability is? But this could simply be explained as "when a user dies, the same fruit pops up somewhere else/grows out of his/her corpse"
or the book was made by the creators of the devil fruits maybe...
Or maybe it is a devil fruit ability to know what the other devil fruits are, how they look like, and a vague idea of where one is when close by.
The possibilities are infinite with this story. As Oda once quoted, "anything that is imagined can be reality" or something like that.
For the book we know the DF can appear several times (but only one of the same at a time), so even if we don't know how they regenerate it is really possible that a book was made to reference all the DF that have been known to exist throughout history.
And I don't know of any big plot holes, which is one of the reason why OP is so great ^^
honestly, i think that it isn't much of a plot hole because i mean in this case, Oda just has to mention something like on a side note that could be done anytime, like i mean Jyabura mentioned that there are demons inside the fruits themselves so we have that much
like it could be that the demons leave the person once they die and manifest into another fruit, i mean, personally, i think Oda needs like an entire arc dedicated to the DF because they are still such a mystery in their entirety, i know that it adds to the suspense in the series, i think they might just have the arc since they've already mentioned Dr. vegapunk, which could be like the next arc after Brooke, so it could be explained that way,
i think the only other real plot hole could be the fact that DF users can't swim, it might have been informed why but, if so, i forgot it, so correct me if i'm wrong,
also, this is not really a plot hole as much as it raises some questions but would a logia style DF user with power over water (including salt)(i think they might have mentioned it in their possible DFs in the first few episodes) lose the ability to swim and, thus, be able to drown?
technically, it is not that DF users can't swim, but it is a fact that when a DF user get into water he loses his strengh (the more the water, the more he loses it), so obviously if one goes into the sea or pool to swim he will be so weakened that he won't be able to swim at all (it is an indirect consequence).
There never was a mention about a water DF (in the manga.. i think there were a water DF user in the anime but it doesn't count) and I doubt there will ever be as the sea and DFs don't seem to like each other :p
If there is one though, he should drown if he gets into water (he could use a suit though ^^)
Oh, here's a plot hole. While fighting Kumadori, Chopper takes the third rumble ball which forces the devil within him to be released. After the fruit's devil is out though, it is shown to be a monster raindeer instead of some deformed human. While Chopper's fruit is the human human fruit, shouldn't it have been some out of shaped giant maybe like Oz that should have came out instead?
I don't remember it was said that the 3rd ball would release his devil..? Though i see what you mean : as his devil take possession of his mind, his body should look like this devil too, and thus should look more human, but it is just speculation and maybe the devil took the strongest form he could avail with this body.... maybe..
well, bleuno tells jyabura that the theory that you have a devil in you when you eat a devil fruit is just a common superstition. The rumble ball manipulates and redirects the effects of the devil fruit (chopper says this during the snow arc, i think), it has nothing to do with an actual devil.
