Thread: Ussop and stuff(mainly his potential)

SO anyways, the main point of this thread was to originally discuss Ussop and his lack of being used in fights

i was watching the newer episodes and i realized that Ussop hasn't actually fought and won a battle since the Mr3 incident,

mr4 and mrs christmas - he was pretty much defeated until Chopper did the better part of the work for him,

the Round fat guy in the Enel Arc - mostly defeated by Luffy but he thought up a lot of stuff

the rest of the arcs - he himself lost and was saved by someone else (i think the only fight in the CP9 arc that he actually won was when he was on the train and a troop came in and he blasted him in the face)

but then something hit me, there was a point at which Sanji says something to the effect of "you can do what we cannot and we;ll do what you can't"
so i started thinking

do you think that Ussop is actually ever going to fight and win another fight on his own without being nearly killed and saved by someone else?

I think he has potential that's severely underrated, but also, do you think he's going to really fight anyone in this new arc? or do you think he's going to do what he seems to do best and strategize?

I hope that since the new weapon, he'll be a better part of the actual fights rather than the losses,

what do you guys think?

Well if "Sogeking" hadn't been sniping all those guys at Enies Lobby they would've had a lot of trouble. I think that Usopp will get stronger but for now he's kind of ignored...

He improved a bit since the beginning.
First he was completely useless.
At least now, he can fight to some degree.
He can take out nameless henchmen (several at once) or weak opponents.
But he's nowhere near to fight strong people.

He probably will in the future, but not now.
He'll still have enough to do or people to fight in this arc though. There are enough zombies that he can fight.

Well im sure he'll be useful at some point. His job is NOT to take out strong opponents on his own... rather I think he's gonna be used as sniping backup for one of the real fighters, instead of the endless 1on1 fights going on atm. Remember how Blackbeard had a sniper in his crew who was also used more as backup?

Hey wait he defeated that mereman Chu guy or something he was preaty strong i think

The problem is, he's a long range fighter who's practically always caught in close combat. If he manages to somehow conceal himself, or keep his distance to the point that his foe can't reach him, he's got the edge. His fight with Luffy showed that.

well personally, now that's it;s been brouhgt up, i think he's is moving up a level, i mean zombies certainly are a higher rank than nameless cronies,

but another thing, apparently, from some of the chapters, Kabuto has some close range potential, do you guys think that he's ever use that at all like as a primary fighting untensil or just far range?

I don't know, his sound attack was strong enough to freeze Marine Captains.

Ussop is slowly developing into a decent fighter, eventually he will be able to hold his own against stronger bad guys .

Ussop will never be as strong as other team ( well, unless Nami, perhaps)

but it's okay, just like our cook said ( do what you can do and blablabla..)

and I think that sniper from the blackbeard crew will be his greatest foe.
