nami has always been way more useless than usopp in fights, and she is only a little bit efficient thanks to him....
This said, and as for the current arc, i am sure Usopp will be quite efficient to make the zombies eat salt :)
btw, if you expect him to become a melee warrior it is a useless hope lol :D
As Kung said, there are things he can do while the others can't, and vice versa ! which is the case for every character of course
just like what Luffy yelled at arlong park, right? :D
i don't remember what he yelled then :p
but what sanji said at EL could not have been truer ^^ and without usopp robin wouldn't be with the SH anymore
well if by nearly 500 chapters he isn't strong we shouldnt say he will be in the future. What this boy needs is a real gun and some physical training.
lol, physical training ???? what for ? xP
And his current gun is both more powerful and versatile than a regular one.... Usopp is not my fav mugiwara by far but some criticisms are just SO out of reality that i just can't not defend him :P
Ussop doesn't physical training; he's taken a lot more punishment than any other Strawhat (with the possible exception of Zoro), and he attacks with a slingshot, so I doubt he'd be throwing a punch anytime soon. We all remember the story of the 4-ton bat, which has been repeated by defenders of Ussop a million times.
And Ussop's slingshot and Kabuto are far better than any gun. He can shoot so many more things than just bullets - and if wants to, he has his Gunpowder Star.
I think if Ussop is to have his own one-on-one battle like the other Strawhats, he has to start to include the dials into his fighting style. Combined with his genius for invention and innovation, it would make him a lot deadlier.
We also have no clue how much the Kabuto has been enhanced with the dials. For all we know, the Kabuto has a built in Axe or Impact dial just in case enemies get close by.
I haven't read the manga, but from the CP9 arc, Usopp really, really needs to get the hell back to do damage. If this anime was based in murder, Usopp (and other snipers) with a rifle and a few hundred yards would easily be the most lethal opponent.
Of course, then it would be boring.
Bad Guy 1: "Fear my Monkey Fruit Pow--*brain splatters*"
Bad Guy 2: "Dude, I'm totally made of smoke and untouchable when I see the punch com--*brain splatters*"
^this is why guns don't get used a lot in rpgs or comics, because if they're made to be realistic its way too powerful, but otherwise they become almost useless.
fufufu, it's kinda HS but with some friends we are thinking about making a futuristic MMORPG, and in it a sniper can kill with one bullet :D that will be great if it works one day ^^
