you mean vivi right? I don't think Igram was her butler. If anything he was more of a personal body guard.

Oh God, Oda is such a genius. . .he has me laughing my head of one minute and then the next second tear just starts flooding. . . .I don't know but almost every arch I got tearied eye and snot dripping. . . .

    1. Nami's Past
    2. Chopper's Past
    3. Robin's past

In episode 296 when Robin made her wish known. . .God, it was so touching I cried. . . .When Nami went to get Luffy Because he was stuck in between the buildings. . .Nami cried because she just realize how much Robin cares for them. . .I cried with her. . .There was like so many scenes. . .Most of them were heart wrenching. . . .especially when we find out how they suffer and how they deal with it. . . .I don't think there is another manga or anime right now that can do this to me. . .and give me a sense of adventure at the same time. . .I feel like I know the whole crew personally. . . .there are many more tear jerkers too but I am not going to list them all. . .

    scenes that made me cry:

    Belmel's death

after beating Arlong, Luffy declaring Nami that she's his nakama. the anime had more impact what not with Luffy's seiyuu having put so much soul into her voice acting.

Hiruluks eating that mushroom knowing what it was.

Hiruluks' sakura. again, in the anime only.

Ussopp's disgust at Miss Merry Christmas for mocking his friend's dream.

Vivi, getting desperate to stop the rebellion, kept on screaming towards everyone to stop fighting, as she stood on top of the clock tower.

Luffy after beating the hell outta Croc, as Vivi looks on and reminisce the promise Luffy made to her.

    the strawhats departure from alabasta.

As the citizens of Skypiea prays for a miracle, Luffy destroys Enel's Raigou.

Luffy beating Enel and ringing the bell after 400 years, answering the hopes and dreams, of which some goes waaay back, of many people.

Tom's arrest, and Franky's desperate attempt to save him.

Robin's past. (hearing her say "I don't want to be alone anymore!" to her mom, while listening to the last few minutes of the Bleach OST track "Nowhere to belong" can and will do the trick.)

Robin, answering to Luffy that she wants to live.

other than those, most of luffy simple minded reasons to fight (cuz he's/ she's my nakama, ringing the bell to let him know, etc.) makes me warm inside. and many times, especially in the anime, hearing luffy shout out his own common sense on things, or any other reason he shouts for that matter, just sheds a tear to me( i.e: "i don't want her to die!!! she's my nakama!!!" towards croc, after he told luffy to just try and forget about Vivi)

as for merry's "death", it was sad, but not enough to make me cry. however, i can be sure the anime version will make me grab a bucket and 2, no 3 boxes of tissues.

Diokhan join in on the tears and the laughter. Your post could be my post. Man, OP is great at getting me feel emo. I mean I haven't gotten this involve in a manga or anime before. I mean I enjoyed alot of mangas and Animes but low and behold. . .OP got me involved. . . .both emotionally and physically. . .all that crying and rasping voice due to laughing and sadness.

in regards to past, the saddest ones for me were

Namis: when Gen admits that the whole village knows she was fighting on her own, and they were cheering her on from the side, then sacrificing everything for her.

Chopper: him getting kicked out by Hilurik was so sad, and chopper hurts himself to get himself back in :'( and mushroom realisation

Franky: his own creation kills his biggest idol...

Robin: i dont know why Robins one is the least sad for me, its incredibly tragic, but doesnt seem to touch me as much.

i didnt cry but i was touched by many scenes in one piece. and even if i did cry i'm too stubborn to admit it. a lot of scenes are very emotional. i think that the story can be very sad at times and then become outrageously funny the next second. that's why its so cool
