Thread: Ace and Teach[spoilers]

the reason that Teach definitely beat Ace has nothing to do with how big the attacks are, or anything of that nature. We all know that Teach wins because it is important for the story for this to be the case. Note that at this point in the story, Teach is Luffy's most natural arch nemesis. I'm not sure if Ace will survive or not. That isn't important. More important is that Teach needs to progress with his plan and continue to succeed so that he maintains a status of being worthy to fight (and obviously lose to) the Straw Hats.

BB is a sneaky character, and we know he's ambitious, a small possible plan of his could be to use Ace to draw WB to battle the world government, in which case WB's forces will become depleted or atleast WB will be complacent, at that moment BB will strike...

As far as shanks and WB being able to kick his ass... maybe, it's hard to tell, we've not seen them 2 fight properly, we've not seen BB's fruit to it's full use yet, we really dont know anything. The only thing we know is the level of strength of the following is said to be in balance.

Yonkou = Shichibukai = WG

So take from that what you will. BB doesnt factor into that i know, but he is definitely no weakling.

But as to whether he will win against him, the jury's still out on that one. Ace might win, because i think that he shares Luffy's extremely strong will and determination

It's been a long time since we wrote that but I wasn't about whether or not Ace was still alive.
You made it seem like he could even win that fight.
And I just wanted to tell you that there is no way that could ever happen based on all the time Oda spend to build up BB

Actually we can draw some conclusions from what's presented in the manga, he desires entry into the Shichibuaki therefore he and his crew believes that he is on that level, but far more telling is that he gave Shanks his most visible wound aside from the lost arm which was a deliberate sacrifice. Of course we don't know when exactly that happened as in the chapter of the flashback to just after the execution the side of his face that was scarred was conveniently covered by windblown hair, so it's possible it happened before Shanks began his rise to the yonkou but still even if BB's growth was at a slower rate then Shanks, he was still once close to him in strength and that was pre DF.

i think that bb isn't rly strong. considering that he APPLIES to be a shichibukai, the wg usually chooses individuals that are a threat to the wg, therefore it states that bb is only looking for the position and the powers it offers.

No. Blackbeard is strong. He controls the most powerful Logia fruit and appears to be very tough if he can beat Ace (another Logia fruit user) and has Shanks moving to stop any confrontation with Blackbeard.

As for applying for the Shichibukai, I really wouldn't say he was applying but getting his name out there so more people know about him and fear him and his power. He already has at least 2 of the Yonkou knowing about him and carefully trying to keep an eye on his movements, and now he wants the World Government and Shichibukai to be aware of him and how dangerous he can be. Gaining a membership in the Shichibukai would allow Blackbeard to move a bit more freely to obtain his goals.
