How bout that One Piece? 40 volumes and still going?

I heard from a friend One Piece is up to like what volume 44 Is he getting closer to becoming the King of the Pirates yet? or is he still fighting some other random pirates or the 7 pirate gods or whatever??

they're only halfways, in traveling ways, then we must also expect alot of grand battles against the schichibukai and more WG action :)
and not to forget, Blackbeard.

Yep always was more than just becoming the pirate king or beating up a few pirates. It just keeps getting better and better as we now start to get a hang of the political situation too. Also still going strong at 44 volumes while cool isn't too unusual I mean hajime no ippo is still keeping up the quality at 77-78 volumes the fact I've read all of it and one piece that have been scanlated and still hunger for more is a testament to their quality.

One piece is not close to finish. There is so much to do in their world, so many people to defeat and much room to grow stronger, tons of places to go. Three of the seas havent been shown, he has to face whitbeard the 7 god pirates, red hair shanks, his father the three admirals, get more crew members, more than half of the grand line to visit, kick the ass out of the marines, his grandfather, beat his brother, blackbeard, get new techniques see new devil fruit.

As you can see this is gona take a while to get everything down, also considering that to complete a arc he takes around 2-3 volumes. So may end up with 80 some volumes. I cant wait lol

wow sounds cool but what are they now? fighting White Beard and Luffy's dad is the 3 Admirals???????!!!!!!!!!!!! who are they?

I think the author gonna add all these thing on the way to the 20th island (am I right ?)
Still, it'll take 40 more episode to finish up all that, like TearOfGod said. Can't wait T_T.

i thought he said it was gonna be about 1000 chapters long. he said thats what he was aiming for. =\

whatever its still a f'ing awesome manga.

I think he meant the halfway point of the story in the interview where he said we were halfway there. Which might not necessarily reflect on the number of chapters.
