I was thinking about getting into one piece but i was wondering if i should read the anime or watch the manga because i remember seeing the anime on 4 kids and i dont know if they pulled a shaman king and totally changed the awesome manga into a lovable kids cartoon or if the anime was loyal to the manga. Either way feedback would be appreciated. NO SPOILER PLEASE!

in japanese, the anime is good... but still not as much as the manga :p
(now if you have tens of hours to lose, watch the anime xp)

Manga is superior to the anime because of the art, and because the manga has the parts that were skipped or changed in the anime. The animation in the anime, the drawings and character designs...they are not only different than those in the manga, but they also look considerably worse. Some characters, like Robin, look different altogether. And when I say different, I mean that Robin looks a whole lot better in the manga than she does in the anime, where she looks somewhat meh.
The manga is the true stuff, right from the source. I say read the manga, then once you're finished, watch the anime for the action scenes (because action scenes are never too good in manga form). The anime only has the upper hand when it comes to the action scenes, but the true value of One Piece isn't in the action, well not for me anyway. But if you mainly like OP for the action, then I guess you should go for anime.

how about try reading 10 chapters of manga first n watchin 1 or 2 episodes of anime n compare it urself.
