    but then, he stayed in roger crew until he was 15, which is old enough to remember about raftel i guess...

    I think the grand line refers to the series of islands and that general area not really a line

    i think 15 is roughly about right, I mean with japanese manga/anime characters do tend to be young, and "old and wise veterans" are usually like 25-35ish, rookies are like 14-16 and by the time they're 18 they're all already experienced soldiers. I mean I've seen very few manga where the main character starts out at 20 something and the ones that start out at around 14-15 never really looks 15, except in very few rare cases.
