Thread: The anime is better than the manga

On the most debatable point in the manga/anime world, I think the anime definitely wins over the manga.

I read the first 10 chapters last night and it just didn't seem nearly as good and I realized that was because it didn't have the anime's great voice acting.

Maybe you should try reading more of it.

I will, but I doubt it will top the anime since it seems to follow the manga pretty closely, just with sound.

hey, it's not really something you have to worry about. In the last two months (when I started reading manga) I've read all of Bleach, Gantz, Naruto, Chaosic Rune, Hunter X Hunter, Black Cat, and Blame that is on this site. There's not really any question as to whether I'll read it.

Found another point in favor of the anime: it's subbed by KF whereas a bunch of the manga on here is by ryukoki or whoever (they don't deserve to have their name known). If the translation doesn't contain horrible grammer and spelling, it's missing entirely.

i am totally for the voice acting in the anime, Zoro sound like he's constantly pissed off about something, and i think that its pretty badass. And on the subject of voice acting, i think that the american voices are pure shit. Who's with me?

I've never watched it because I've heard it's pretty heavily edited, I've already seen the subbed version, and I'm not ever up that early.

I prefer the manga because the anime is so childish it's a show for the 10-12 years old. The manga is more fun too.

oh god, the smaller picture group FINALLY got a good translator/editor and then after maybe 10 chapters that weren't crap it switched to a new group that is even worse.
edit: nvm, apparently they were just drunk or something when they did that one chapter

Maybe this manga would be good if it weren't translated by freaking people who somehow have a horrible grasp of japanase, english, and photoshop all at the same time. Then again, that can be said for many mangas I'm sure.

Also, there is just no way the manga is better. All of the stuff in the anime that isn't in the manga is GOOD. Like when they're travelling with Ace in Alabasta, which is not in the manga. Apart from having less content and not having the quality voice acting, the manga and anime are the same.
