Thread: Why is Shanks one of the 4 Emperors ? *spoiler*

In the last chapter it was said that Shanks is one of the 4 Emperors besides Whitebeard and two other unknown pirates. Whitebeard is insane huge and i guess he is very powerfull ^^" But whats with Shank, does he actually has any special abilities o__O?

Shanks is an emperor because he and his crew are powerful enough to rule a part of the latter half of the grand line. He scares of sea kings with a look, so he's powerful, what his powers are don't matter at this point.

u dont need to be huge to be strong ..... look at ac and luffy they are not huge at all yet i am sure they are pretty strong

I though white beard was part of the shichibukai. Guess I was wrong ^^. Although I haven't seen White Beard in any of the chapters ('coz I skipped alot). Which chapter did he appear?

shanks is part of the four emperors because he is badass. plus we don't know how really powerful he is. mihawk challenges once in awhile and he scared the sea king just by looking at it is the only hints of his power we get.

He scared the sea king with is eyes 10 years ago and look at luffy now and his not been there even for a year!

well.... i read on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-Haired_Shanks(its under personality second to last paragraph) that red hair shanks used to spar with mihawk with the sword

"It is said that Shanks' sword fighting skills were once a match for the world's strongest swordsman, Mihawk. It also is said that the two men would often spar with each other. When Shanks lost his left arm which was also his good arm, Mihawk stopped seeking him out for duels. However, it seems he and Mihawk remain on neutral terms with each other."

I guess he must have other fighting skills or else is also pretty good with the sword with his right arm

Rockstar has only appeared in one anime episode so far. Even though little is known about him, it can be assumed he is quite powerful since his bounty is so high (94 million beri). Together with the info that he is a new member it could mean that many of Shanks' nameless members could also have high bounties, maybe a little hint about how great Shanks' power could be.

I was truly a skeptic (and still somewhat am) about Shank's true strength. I'm very eager to see his fighting capabilities and those of his crew members.

I just find it very hard to accept that he couldn't save Luffy without losing his left arm. If he was that powerful, he should have been able to do so with ease. >_>

It was like in a matter of seconds sure he could kick his behind but whats that wen you lose your friend?
