I thought it was about the magic power of a Afro HAIRCUT. As a gag thing, as I think in some old manga/anime boxing comics there were some afro users, or something. I figured it was a dumb joke.

In Hajime no Ippo they feared black boxer, because they are so big and musculous.

It has nothing to do with skin color, but with physical condition, and they say blacks have a better muscular structure.

first of all, it's a myth that their muscles or tendons are any different than white people. it's just that black people are more different to asian people than whites, so the difference manafests itself in the thought that they're stronger, from looking at famous black people that are buff as hell. lol. but it doesn't mean they're any different.

Nonono. ou've got it SLIGHTLY incorrect. I can't speak for all other Asians, but we Chinese are probably the most racially discriminative people in the world.

Among the Chinese I know, we get along fine with people of other races. Malaysia is only like 60% Malay or something, the rest being Chinese and Indians, so there's pretty much boundaries in terms of being friends with other races. However, we do tend to lump Malays as lazy and useless nonetheless. Sadly, this is not because it's JUST a stereotype... it's TRUE.
(there are a few exceptions)

The "black" thing is true too. Apparently it's not as bad nowadays for some reason (due to higher protein diets in japan?), but even know if you take a sample of 1000 blacks and 1000 Japanese, you're gonna have a HUGE height, weight, strength, speed difference.

Just remember, even among Japanese and Japanese, "the nail that sticks out will be hammered down". It's already a very conformist society, being even a little different in small ways is bad, so... hmm.

Try studying in a uni dorm with plenty of overseas students. Without fail, the Chinese will all sit together at their own "private" table for all the meals etc. bleh.

Being an asian, I can safely say we all don't like each other much.

CHinese and Indians dont like each other, East Asia doesnt like west asia, etc. The main thing with the comic is that i just thought with it being a popular one kids read it just wasnt a good idea to put in racial stereotypes...like the way Luffy started talking.

And ethnic groups just stick together. I go to a school with mostly white kids, and a lot of my buddies are white, but i still have a group of friends who all black or brown.

Meh. the most racist are the Italians!
Basically, we are racist with everybody don't talk our dialect.
And in Italy, there is a totally different dialect every 50\100 kilometers...
Actually, we are ofter more racist with other Italians than with people from other nations... not having a National Identity AT ALL(other than the National Football Team) doesn't help.
