Fire's weakness is definitely not Iron! It's the other way around. The most conductive of metals melt easily in fire, and probably gets oxidized. If not melted, at least they recieve some heat damage from conducting the heat. Iron on the other hand, can't do anything to fire except help it spread. Fire's most logical weakness is water, since water dowses fire.
Don't confuse ice power with water power, however. Aokiji will be disadvantaged against Ace if he fights him because he is ice, which means he freezes things. He doesn't control water.

But Sand weakness is water right.. when lufy fight the crocodile he use the water so water has a very critical damage to sand..

about the fire and the iron i guess i'm wrong after all. but how about fire and rock? in OP there is still no rock element, is'nt it?

Fire would be weak to water, and weak to stone. (As any good Pokemon veteran should know.) However, as neither of those powers have been revealed, and a character with power over water would be rather counter-intuitive as the sea is the universal weakness of all DF users, I'd go with him not really having much of a weakness. Sand probably had the best bet against him, actually, and he's long gone.

    ouch i got owned XP

so scratch the water fruit and and sub it for... an earth type df??? could be really nice and obscenely powerful if a df user could create his own land. somehow i think this DF prolly belongs to Kuma tho. its way to obvious for Oda-dono not to use it.

You apparently have not read Oda's comments on the definition of "sea" in One Piece. ]:

And no, Devil Fruit users are cast out by the ocean, so any direct manipulation of the sea would be a major plothole.

I believe that fire would be weak to sand (which is often used to put out fires).

You know, if the Strawhats ever fought the Whitebeards, Luffy would probably take on Whitebeard himself. So wouldn't Zoro, the essential first mate of the crew, have to take on Ace? Which begs the question, what can Zoro do against Ace? I say it has something to do with wind, as Zoro can already cut the air to creat his Hou(Cannon), and I suppose a strong gust of wind can put out fire, in a sence.

Zoro can cut air. He can cut metal. He does so through some sort of mental focus technique, not strength, so logically, he could do the same to fire. Once he got his cutting set to fire, the only problem would be keeping Ace from reforming, melting his swords, or burning up all the oxygen in the region.

And, of course, there's always seastone. Give Zoro a seastone sword and he could take down anyone.

I doubt that they'll end up fighting any time soon. What's most likely to happen [IMO] would be that Whitebeard gets his ass kicked and Luffy fights the guy who beat him.

If Ace burned up all the oxygen, he wouldn't be able to breath either. Using fire in a cave screws his ass along with his opponent's.

In any case, the types of fruits are pretty much Elemental, Animal, and Other. Anything not applying to the first two categories would, of course, go into the third, which makes the creation of a fourth category somewhat needless.

Does he even need to breathe when in fire form? Personally, I doubt it.

When in fire form he'd still be burning up oxygen as fuel. Besides... it was kind of a what-if kinda thing.
