Default Is Onepiece trying to tell us something in real life?

Just wondering... The whole marine governing and the hiding the true history story, in real life it can be referred to Japan hiding their history of what they done ( Such as attacking China, Korea, Pearl Harbor) from Education to next generations.
Is Oda protesting to not hide such things through One-piece?

(Since theres not much of a thread going on here recently...Plz don't try to hammer)
Clicky the jelly if you can read Japanese

well yeah it can be refered to the usa as well, and to all other countrys...

i take one piece more like a crazy dream world. I try not to see references to our present real world. but hell, oda is a human from the same place as we, so your statement is somewhat true. But he doesnt really focus on that point.

so its like every manga showing some corruption here and there. it's sad to know corruption and betrayal, war and hate is a part of our present society...

yeah, ill stop here before going to far in my speculations and preception.

    one piece rules!

Yes, but wat it's suppose to be teaching us is not about being corrupted but about friendship and stuff.

but u actually learn something that the government doesn't want u to learn. O.o

One Piece's message is to go for your dreams no matter what the odds are, and get friends, also with ridiculous dreams, to help you achieve it, as long as you help them.

    Nakama are for life.

Government conspiracy makes for great drama. 24's proof of that.

One Piece is about meat and violence. Sprinkle some booze here and there.

I think Oda's not just trying, but actually telling us various things. I mean, yes, his story might be about this fantasy dream world, but if it was so much similar to our own world, wouldn't it have caused certain degree of opposition as we all have different opinion about same incident? And that's not an art any more but a newspaper. I think arts doesn't just reflect the society but influences people's mind subconsciously. But an artist is clearly aware it's also up to a reader or a listener (When it's a musician) to decide what to make of the story, music etc. So no matter what you learned, or felt, that's what you got from the story of one piece. It could be government conspiracy or frienship or the importance of meat whatever.

Personally I learned his wicked trick of modifying old classics to his liking. One example of this is in skypiea arc. There is really a similar character in skandinavia classic, I can't remember the title but some of my friends also remember reading it when we were kids. What we originally learned from it in kindergarden, 'liers are bad and will be punished accordingly' And I thought the story was lame even when I was five as I used to lie occasionally about homeworks etc. kkk. But when I read one piece, and if I remember the manga usually is for kids in japan, I wonder what kind of effect it might have to minds of those little people. Like you get the idea not to judge a character by what one point of view. Oda's generous enough to promise a good afterlife even to a character like Wapol. ( in ministory) He didn't forget to add a little innocent girl in Barouque works agents, either. I suppose it is up to us what to make out of this story with open heart and doing itself might be one of his big idea. Flab, I think it was a good question to throw.

I would say simply One Piece started out as telling us we should have dreams and work for them. If ur thinking bout history for Jp attacking other places or whatever bleh i dunno ur thinking too much lmao.

Precisely. People tend to analyze materials to a point where they cease to enjoy the material itself. Literature courses within standard education systems butcher literature through methods of locating each symbol, as opposed to simply directing students to read a book and, thereafter, relay thoughts on the piece.
