    what is that douriki thing???

Back when CP9 regrouped at Ennies Lobby, Kukoru had Lucci, Kaku, Blueno and Calipha attack him, and using a varient of Tekkai, judged their Douriki, values. Which are pretty much offensive prowess. That is to say, an average, armed soldier will have ten Douriki. CP9 members have to have a value past 600.

I believe the purpose of douriki was just to show differences in strength in CP9 for "proper matchups" against the strawhats:

Lucchi, with the highest value, faces Luffy.

Kaku and Jyabura, with second and third, face Zoro.

no, as i said in my first post it was more to mislead us than to show us who would fight who !!

because zoro should be against kaku alone, sanji against jyabura, etc. etc., and nothing came as it "should" have (thank god )
oda also mislead us by giving false pairs of fighters and breaking them not long afterwards ^^

If we agree Douriki is so misleading, then what does Lucchi having a frickin' 4000 value mean? What, did he cheat? Does it just reflect his Kung-Fu grip? Everybody at CP9 seemed pretty impressed.

didn't you understand the previous posts??? lucchi has a high douruki simply means that he's the strongest in CP9

No, I'm asking what we can gather from Lucchi having highest Douriki. Does it mean he's just physicaly strong? What about his Tekkai (
defence)? Or how he implements techniques? Also that Jyria(spelling?) apperently used to be close to his value and is suprised that both Kaku and Lucchi are so much stronger. Is shipbuilding THAT good of a training regiment?
I'm just trying to piece together some kind of history for these charecters, 'specialy Lucchi, Kaku and Calipha. Though I'm interested in CP9's history in general, too

hey, it has been said so many times already but meh >.> : dourikis measures the PHYSICAL strengh !!
it gives no informations about their tekkais or their techniques

and i suppose that carrying HUGE pieces of wood every days did help them to become physically stronger

Douriki measures physical strength. Hold that thought. Did the manga every explicitly say or imply that it's physical strength? All I remember is Fukurou being juggled around and him rating everyone based on how they kicked him.

What I found odd is that, out out of the four CP9 members that were sent to Water 7, only Lucchi and Kaku were shipwrights, Blueno and Calipha weren't. Is it mere coincidence that both are now the strongest (or at least have the highest Douriki value), CP9 members? Jyabura's comments seem to imply that it used to be that he and Lucchi were comperable in strength and Kaku was in a firm third place. Now he's third. Maybe it's just that Kaku rocks? I dunno. I really want some CP9 backstory.

The closest thing to a power ranking system that we know in the OP universe is thier bounty. Which actually simple measure one's threat to teh WG rather then pure strenght.
my thoughts exactly. douriki was only used to show us how strong each of the cp9 members were to a regular marine, probably to give the readers an idea of the awesome power the straw hat crew has to fight against. indirectly, we will also get a good idea at just how strong the straw hats have become over their journeys.
