i don't think your theory is good (sagara2), because ao kiji said that he once encountered Luffy's grandfather.. and i think that if he was a colleague then he would have seen him more often...

but maybe it's not far from that...
Luffy's grandfather must be strong, but from the marine or the pirate... who knows.. maybe not from these two, but from the "revolutionnaries" like dragon....

that's one of the most current theories i see on the forums, and i think its chance of being the good one is not so bad ^^

but as we know nothing about dragon, knowing that the D comes from him or his organisation don't help us so much

Dragon must have some connection to luffy since he helped him to get away from smoker that first time(can't remember the name of the city) and says something like that it is his destiny(luffys destiny )
so maybe dragon knows luffys grandfather or maybe shanks

sure dragon is one of the most important characters in one piece
but we know nothing about him as of yet

Eh...it was a theory. They'll find out once they make it to the last island of the GrandLine. But I was wondering...

What if One Piece isn't on the last island of the Grand Line(ploy to expand the series). Maybe in one of the other Four Blues... Ok, probably not...

But, maybe Gold Rogers was part of a different organization, different from Marines or Shicibukai, one that Dragon probably took over. Since Dr. Kureha knew that his name was actually Gol D. Rogers, she may have also been part of the organization. And probably Donflamingo too, since he talks about the "New Era" and Dragon was a revolutionary.

Ok, that was an off topic moment, I stand by my statement I made earlier though.

I don't remember who "Dragon" is and I'm too lazy to look through all of the 300 some chapters looking for it. Anyone care to tell me?

Personally, I think Luffy being Roger's grandson is a bit cliched, but who knows. There are some hints towrads it.

And I think One Piece is just some crappy sentimental treasure.
