manga first...... anime later...
alright every1 thanks for the tips.
the german translation for the anime have make that fat priest from eneru into a woman. and sanji was the first who hit that fat thing. i will see how trhey will translate the chapter where sanji fight against kalifa.
I would argue that this thread belongs to the question and answer thread, but the Q&A thread doesn't have sufficient supporters to justify closing this thread.
To answer the question of topic, I suggest reading the manga while downloading the anime. The anime may not always provide enough impact in special effects (thus inferior to one's own imagination), but it sometimes does really well (voice acting, music, color and visuals, eg. sokeking's first appearance left me in awe and laughter more than the manga did)
I recomend both. I started out with the anime, when I saw it at RTL2, then started reading the manga. The manga has an amazing storyboard + no 4kids cenzoring...like Ace's tattoo =D so it's PURE! But the anime...well yeah, more action...plus I recomend to watch the movies aswell...can't wait for Movie 6 *drools* the graphics are amazing, saw some clips at youtube
OMG! he forgot his lines ! ><
I have see a few chapters in by RTL 2, but i didn't like it much, cuz that fat priest is a woman. And one of my hobby was reading and have many volumes at home. if ya want watch it, my opinion is than do what ya want.
Personally I think that the german sync is way better than the american one. Not to mention the fact that the german sync basically has the translated jp opening and ending. JP OP>German OP>Whatever junk in the world>Amr. OP
furthermore.. you should IMO always start with the manga and then the anime nomatter what kind series we're talking about.
Read the manga first and then watch the anime if you still wish to. There are only subtle differences between them (I believe) so it's not like you will miss out on anything important if you only choose to do one and not the other.
I watched the anime till Skypiea but then I switched to the manga because the anime was so behind. So half of the series thus far I only seen the anime portion and the other half I only read the manga. You can be like me and do a hybrid =P
Don't wait for Kaizoku or whoever to get to it, just buy the DVD if you can find it. It's worth every penny. Especially if you've got surround sound.Originally Posted by Bleeding nurse
I encourage kids to watch the 4Kids version. Especially if they don't have high-speed access, decent computers and lack the drive to watch something they wouldn't normally watch outside of their basic cable package. And I encourage people to buy the DVD's.
Otherwise, we won't see uncut DVD's with proper subtitles and extra features until 4Kids' license runs out (2010 at the latest, I believe) or they sell/give up the license (not bloody likely...).
Worked for DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, NGE and, to a much lesser degree, Shaman King (anime fans are cheap motherf**kers...).
