Does Gaara Still Have Shukaku?

I was wondering does Gaara still have Shukaku? When the Akatsuki took him it was to remove Shukaku and since removing Shukaku would kill Gaara and when they found Gaara he was dead does that mean they managed to remove Shukaku? I was just wondering because they didn't show much of Gaara after he was brought back to life and it wasn't even touched on whether or not he was still a jinchuriki, or maybe it was and I just missed it. Well, if anyone knows could they please tell me, cause this is really starting to bug me.

Chiyo ressurected Gaara...so he still alive...but he is not a jinchuuriki anymore as Ichibi no Shukaku is extracted now. He can still control sands though...

Gaara ability to control sand was given to him by birth under the influence of Shukaku,kind of innate jutsu like First Hokage wood jutsu. With Shukaku extracted, Gaara just lose his ability to gain more fighting force by transforming into Shukaku, think of Naruto that can not draw upon Kyuubi chakra: no fast healing, no suprise raise of energy, and lastly no more facing the monters inside. Good for Gaara, now he can sleep.

yeah, simply put Gaara lost Ichibi no Shukaku, he can still controll sand like he used too, but probably not to the extent that he used to. he can now get to sleep on the plus side.

he might of also lost his automatic sand defense since shukaku was controlling it to protect them.

No the automatic sand defense was part of the sand infusion I thought...
He only lost the ability to clump the sand together to create the demon raccoon-dog's body I thought...

Hmmm... I was wondering about that too - whether Gaara lost some of his sand abilities... I think he still retains his automatic defense of his sand and his ability to control it... and I also don't think he isn't much weaker than before because Gaara never really relied on his shukaku for chakra like naruto did... rather, shukaku just showed up and took over when Gaara lost his marbles... I dunno, to me, Gaara seems to be the same badass guy from before... and he can sleep too ^^...
