Wow... I remember telling my little brother that Kakashi had the Five-tailed Demon Dog inside him. After I read the Bijuu legend, not only was I surprised at the coincidence of the dog being the Gobi, but it makes even more sense now that Kakashi has it.

Kakashi's father was known as Konoha's "White Fang". The white part would be a reference to his white chakra, while the second part could point at the nature of his fighting style. A fang could imply a wolf or dog, but because of Kakashi's summoned beasts, I went with the latter.

Kakashi was orphaned since his early childhood, and as far as we've seen, he's always covered his face. Add to this that he also has white chakra (which he doesn't always use), and it's possible that his father had the Gobi, and transfered it to Kakashi before he died. That would explain why he covers his face, since his appearance would change slightly, like we see with the other Jinchuuriki.

The above could be deduced without knowing the Bijuu legend. I decided the Demon Dog would have five tails because I liked the number. ^_^;

If you look at Houkou's description, the connection to Kakashi becomes even more apparent. First off, it has white fur, which matches Kakashi's white chakra (in which case it isn't really Kakashi's chakra, but the Gobi's). This corresponds with the Kyuubi's red fur and how Naruto can channel its red chakra. The first comment of Kakashi's chakra color was when he attacked that earth ninja. He was pretty emotional at the time, so it might work like how naruto uses the Kyuubi's chakra when he gets mad. As Kakashi grew older, he learned how to control both his emotions and the Gobi's chakra to a larger extent, which could be the reason why no one notices his white chakra; he's just not using it.

Another thing is how the Gobi's five tails each channels a different element. This would explain (aside from his genius) Kakashi's affluency in using all types of elemental jutsus, as opposed to the Uchiha's affinity to fire attacks for example.

Also, Houkou's symbolic ability is Illusion, which goes nicely with Kakashi's strong genjutsu, even without the Sharingan (his genjutsu on Sakura when he gave then the first test for example).

Questions as to why Kakashi doesn't appear to use the Gobi (if he has it) are debatable. It could be because of its destructive nature. The ability similarities we see between Kakashi and the Gobi might be "passive" charactaristics passed on to Kakashi because of him being a Jinchuuriki. Like how Naruto always heals faster than normal, even when he doesn't "actively" use the Kyuubi chakra.

Well, those are my 2 cents. Not concrete fact, but it seems pretty likely to me.

that's a good theory but its seriously flawed...kakashi has problem using the mangekyou sharingan, and he cant help it...if he had the sealed monster, he would have easily done it...come on, one tails does not do much damage to the body rite?why not use it?plus he mentioned that he had far less chakra than naruto...

another thing is if he has the sealed monster, how come akatsuki it not after him....weird..as far as i know, they know all the location fo the sealed beasts...

and...one thing to note is he doesnt have accelerated regeneration like naruto...if he has the sealed beasts, he would have the trait...

Yes, and in vol. 19, pg. 40, he says that he is a nekomata named matamene, so he admits being a nekomata.


Also, this thread isn't here to discuss which mangas are using 2 tailed cats, cause if it is a jap. manga, and a character is a cat beast/spirit/whatever, there is a very high chance of it having 2 tails.

Even if Kakashi did have the dog sealed in him, you claim it changed his looks (hence the mask), right?

But he's apparently very attractive under the mask (okay, maybe it was just filler, but nevertheless him looking like a dog would break consistency - unless there's a strange fetish at the resaurant)

kakashi's father got the name white fang because of his white hair and that's where the white part originates. Just like konoha yellow flash(yondaime), since he was known for being really really fast and his hair was yellow(blond) he earned the name yellow flash.

About Kakashi not using the Gobi, it's still possible that it's too dangerous to try to control. Jiraiya mentioned the fact that the Yondaime's seal on Naruto is weakening, which is lessening his ability to control Kyuubi's chakra. Imagine what would happen to a seal on Kakashi since his childhood. It would make sense that he would avoid using the Gobi at all cost.

Also, Kakashi telling both Naruto and Sasuke to keep their hidden power at bay (Kyuubi with Naruto, Curse Seal with Sasuke) is a recurring theme. He tells them that the risk isn't acceptable, and that their are other ways to gain power (like how he got Mangekyou Sharingan by creating a new Jutsu). It implies that he would hold his own hidden power at bay, if he had it.

On the topic of Naruto having far more chakra, that doesn't really contradict anything. Even if Kakashi had the Gobi, it's still only the fifth in terms of sheer chakra stamina, while the Kyuubi is the undisputed first (unlimited chakra). True, Kakashi would be able to tap into chakra which would eclipse any person other than a Jinchuuriki, but that doesn't apply to Naruto.

About the Akatsuki not following him, their are several points. First of all, I'm not sure, but I don't remember them saying that they knew the location of all the Bijuu. What I do remember is Deidera chiding Sasori by saying that he's grumpy because he hasn't found his Jinchuuriki yet. I need to go back to those chapters to make sure.

And even if they knew the location of all the Bijuus, that doesn't mean that they have to attack Kakashi immediately. Itachi and Kisame let Naruto go more than once, and in the 2 and a half years after no incident is mentioned. (As a side note, if we do assume that Kakashi holds the Gobi and that the Akatsuki's leader wants it for himself, wouldn't it be interesting ,and admittedly cliched, if he turned out to be the Yondaime or Obito? >_>; <_<; What?)

And on the regeneration thing, that could be Kyuubi exclusive. Actually, that would make sense, since the Bijuu legend specifically states that after the Gobi took extensive damage, it had to depend on a sacred regeneration tree to go through the long process of healing. Again, like the Kyuubi gives Naruto inherent healing abilities, the Gobi could be what gives Kakashi his inherent Genjutsu and elemental abilities.

That appears in the manga special, too. There are two possibilities that could explain it:

The first is that even though there is a slight change in his appearance, he still looks attractive. Like how Gaara (after becoming the Kazekage) looks attractive to the Hidden Sand shinobi even with his insomniac Ichibi eyes. Kakashi might just have slightly longer canines and a shiny nose.

The second explanation (and I hope I'm not torched alive for suggesting this) is that the reaction he got was not because he was attractive.

If you notice (in the manga at least, I didn't watch that part in the anime), hearts appear around both the girl and the old man when they see his face. A totally innocent explanation would be that Kakashi actually looks *pulls down visor* cute, as in adorable. You know, like a puppy. ^_^;

Oh, and Kakashi's eyes look like Pakon's.

Yes, that's probably part of it. But if you go back to when Kakashi helps Obito, that ninja says something like "White chakra! Could it be.. Konoha's White Fang?". The chakra is obviously part of why he was called the White Fang.

Again, this is all just speculation on my part, nowhere near a given. The white chakra could be a preperty of his dagger, the abilities 100% talent, genius and genetics (even his excellent sense of smell ^_^; ), and the face cover just a fashion statement.

But I do find that the possibility is there, if Kishimoto chooses to play it like that.

I don't think Kishimoto plans on showing more than 2 Jinchuuruki. I mean, most of the present characters are already based off of them. Maybe future holders of the Bijuu? I don't know.
