Well that was... dumb. Did Gai really NEED a glurgy backstory to make him even MORE like Lee (depressingly by giving him a father JUST LIKE HIM only weak)? I mean god forbid that Gai actually come up with his life philosophy on his own as something to pass down to his surrogate son Lee, his own childhood had to be almost a carbon-copy of Lee's or CLEARLY there'd be no way he'd have been able to relate to him /sarcasm.

Interesting note, though- did you notice that when the Seven Swordsmen were confronting Gai's team in the flashback, the wielder of the dual Kiba swords WASN'T actually Ringo Ameyuri, the female swordsman revived by the Edo Tensei earlier in the arc, it was Kurosuki Raiga, the guy who actually died wielding them in the 'Curry of Life' filler arc of the anime? That means the character has now been canonised.

You mean like when Kakashi actually met the soul of his dad in the afterlife and made peace with him so he could move on to... oh, wait.

No, Hinata survived, Sakura stabilised her. People just tend to think that her sacrifice was cheaped because "she WOULD have been resurrected anyway".
The Dream Wedding: My first one-shot Naruto fanfiction.
Naruto: the Secret Songs of the Ninja: My epic "what if" story where Sasuke never survived the battle against Haku.

Top ten reasons why NaruHina will become canon:
    7. Naruto saw Hinata dancing naked in a waterfall, and he totally digs that.
    10. Hinata has giant boobies.

With the seven swords popping up, it made me think of something. Couldn't Samehada keep Killer B alive? Didn't it do something like that before when B almost lost to Kisame. Maybe it's giving him chakra right now to keep him alive

Yes, exactly like that. Although i find in this situation the stakes are exponentially higher though, and the way gai is going out is more fitting of a glorious death....and he actually needs to stay dead.

And good catch Arcane. That seems to be a younger Raiga wielding the twin blades. Thinking back on that encounter and how gai's dad died though, its obvious kishi didnt had the foresight at the time (so not gonna bash him on that) but it would have made sense if the minute gai helped Asuma and Kurenai when they first encounted Itachi and Kisame back in the day he showed more of a reaction to him given the fact that he would have associated samehada with the death of his dad..... actually.... everytime he and Kisame had their fights would have been an emotional ride for him, somewhat being able to get vengence on the wielder of the blade which was part of his dad's death.

Also, so didnt know gai was such a "failure" limited to taijutsu just like lee.... always though it was simply his preference and choice. That was too cliche of a coincidence to make him a carbon copy of his student. If that was the case then he could've cheered lee up easier "hey lee i know you feel like a failure but you know what? i cant use anything else (besides this summon?) either!! and look at me!! im the jounin green beast of konoha!"

"He is now declaring his words to the WORLD!"

Gai did say long ago back in part one while training Lee.
That he was weaker than Lee was before Lee started his training.

I agree, I also thought it was only Rock Lee that was unique in that he could only use Taijutsu and nothing else; but now it appears its saying Gai is the same: http://mangafox.me/manga/naruto/vTBD/c668/5.html

But I'm pretty sure I've seen Gai use other jutsu in the past, at the very least he's used kuchiyose (summoning) jutsu.
