Naruto's rapid SM activation could be contributed to 3 things in my book: 1) He has figured out a way to cut his meditation time, and has honed his concentration abilities so that he wouldn't have to close his eyes while gathering Nature Chakra (he was perfectly still, with his eyes open, while he listened to Iruka and was contemplating what Killerbee told him about the tame animals on the island), 2) The pure kyuubi chakra was said to be really potent 'life' chakra, maybe he's found a way to let that chakra count as Nature chakra (Life and Nature chakra sound similar)? or 3) Kishi just forgot, which I highly doubt, that Naruto needs time to activate that mode. The best option for me to believe is option 1 because standing still with your eyes open or standing with your eyes closed wouldn't seem to bother Naruto for gathering Nature chakra this time around. Number 2 sounds good too because if Life and Nuture chakra are 1 in the same, which they sound like, then Naruto has a constant supply of Nature chakra within him at his disposal whenever.

Heh. I had a long and heated argument regarding Naruto's rapid Sage Mode activation on the onemanga forums.

The conclusion is basically this: Naruto was surreptitiously gathering nature energy during his conversation with the Jounins and Iruka.

Jiraiya(while he was standing still on Gamaken) and Ma/Pa Toad(on his shoulders) have shown that it is possible to gather nature energy while talking, so long as their bodies remain still.

The alternative is to assume that Naruto learnt how to insta-activate Sage Mode off-panel, which is too much for him to achieve offscreen given asspulls aren't his style and there was never a hint that he ever got around to training with Sage Mode since the Pain fight, aside from that one little session in the Iron Country that got interrupted by Sakura and his subsequent hyperventilation.

It's not instant sage mode. I never disagreed with being unable to gather Sage chakra while moving. I'm saying that he could have been gathering it and stopped gathering it at any point so he can move.

So it would sort of look like this
Stand still/gather
stop gathering/move. (rinse, repeat)

That's a good indication of him being able to deactivate Sage mode when he wants and re activate with whatever chakra he has remaining whenever.

I give up. Me, Krazy and Witcher have pretty much all said the samething with examples and your still adding new stuff to your point that dont justify what your saying.

When you say go back into it with what ever chakra he has remainig do you mean Sage Chakra? because if you do then your wrong.

Chakra becomes Sage Chakra once Nature energy is gathered, there not seperate like his kyuubi and normal chakra.

The way I see it there are 3 chakras Naruto handles. Natural energy, his own regular chakra and the kyuubis. Is it hard to imagine him having reserves of natural energy if he already gathered it and didn't use it or do we assume that he's constantly leaking natural energy.

Edit: I see where it got confusing so I'll get back to the issue and say that you are right about him being able to gather energy during the talking but I figured I made that clear he could do that.(refer to my first post) If I disagreed in some way it was because every time come back to post it's late and I'm beat from work.
