Looking back on this chapter now im really impressed at Ino's "balls". She manned up pretty good and took charge pretty superbly in this chapter. She saved Chouji's fat ass TWICE today!!

I doubt Tenten realises how much of a chakra drain the fan is, she'll probably just slip into unconsciousness any moment now, lol.

While Kishi may be doing this to fanservice Asuma and his team I think he's building up Chouji to be towards the top of the new generation.

FINA-EFFIN-LY Chouji gets some character development. As long as his newfound bad-ass development sticks and doesn't go the way of Sakura's "development", then Kishimoto might actually redeem himself.

Crybabies have no place on the battlefield, so it was either man-up or die. Thankfully, Chouji chose the former.

It's hard to believe how much more active these forums used to be just a few months ago...

I didn't really like this chapter. It may be the fact that I don't give a damn about either Ino or Chouji, but Kishimoto's method of 'developing' them felt weak and underwhelming. I couldn't bring myself to muster any sympathy for Choji when he repeatedly failed to even land a punch on Asuma, instead standing still in some lame pose with his fist frozen inches away from his opponent. Ino had to possess him just to get him to move! He's worse than Sakura in the usefulness department. The only part I really enjoyed was the bit of history on the Akimichi, Nara and Yamanaka clans.

And Tenten gets the fan... quite an irony for the least developed member of the Konoha 11 to suddenly become the strongest aside from Naruto. Hope Kishimoto remembers his own words about the chakra drain, though...

this war is taking forever to finish... why can't kishi find the same kishi that wrote the konoha invasion arc.

^ Wars don't end quickly. Just be greatful this is an actual all out war vs. Kube's Shinigami winter war bs. That was more of a brawl.

Tenten best seal that fan in a scroll like her other weapons before she's on her knees in front of a gang of Zetsus (yeah I know how it sounds and I ment it lol)

We all know Tenten doesn't have the chakra reserves to be able to use that fan properly. Naruto and Bee are the only two who would be able to sustain it. Here's hoping that Naruto gets to keep it. I don't want him to wave it around like a fairy though, maybe (hopefully) he can seal it into one of his hands so that he can use the different elements for jutsus without needing the physical object?

If he does that though, I doubt he would learn new jutsus, he would probably just make newer variations of Rasengan...
