Ironically, this early release coincided with a bug which left people unable to log in at the Onemanga forums, my other haunt. So the forums are a little quiet at the moment.:p
Well, the Shikamaru teaser from last chapter turned out to be a c*ocktease, because this chapter only led up to the Asuma fight. We'll have to wait another week for the big moment.
The five treasures have been quietly taken out of the war by losing the rope, but the fan's still around. I hope Kishimoto doesn't take the easy way out of having someone steal it right under all those ninjas' noses or simply forgetting about it.
The only thing that really bugs me at this point is how the idea of resurrecting warriors with emotional ties to the living is underused in these fights. Most of them aren't even fighting people close to them. Haku should have faced Naruto or Sakura. Dan should have met Tsunade instead of friggin Chouza. Same with Hanzo, who has no real connection with Mifune.

Well I imagine part of it right now is to first prevent every ninja from being freed like Shin or Sasori was. Secondly. It atleast makes more sense this way so as not to have them all convinently already.

I know Nagato is also part of the child of prophecy. But if Naruto ends up getting that banana fan. He will wield all 5 elements as per the legend.

so he tells madara. i wouldnt be surprised if he kishi brings him later out saying thats he's still one of the aces he has up his sleve. although, it doesnt make much sense why he would keep jiraya a secret when he already showed hanzo, the former kages, itachi and nagato, all powerfull shinobi possibly more powerfull than the pervy sage.
