I was getting all excited when Naruto was about to transform into the Nine Tailed Fox. But of course, Naruto predictably failed. Isn't he supposed to be the knucklehead unpredictable ninja? It seems like every time Naruto takes one step forward, he ends up taking two steps back. He's got two transformations that give him incredible power, but both of them just keep adding dangers. Sage Mode can't be used in combat because of the time-to-download problem. And his new Fox Mode is problematic because the Kyuubi gets to suck on Naruto's own chakra whenever he enters it.
You know what would be perfect? If Naruto could somehow figure out a way to combine them so that the Kyuubi sucks on the Nature chakra instead of Naruto's chakra. Then the Kyuubi would turn good (shaddup its manga logic) and Naruto would FINALLY get some actual progress. In fact, if Naruto could give the Kyuubi control for a while, it would give Naruto free reign to absorb Nature chakra. You know, the whole "separating movement from absorbing" deal that was mentioned a long while back.
Of course, this is entirely speculative and we all know that Kishimoto wants to make Naruto struggle for his wins. Easy upgrades are the sole property of the Uchiha. It's complete bull**** favoritism.
Sage mode + Kyuubi mode would be the hardest thing in the world for him to achieve. He has to essentially mold and balance 4 different chakra sources (body, spirit, natural energy, kyuubi energy) together. If he had that much control, he should think about using Rasengan with one hand first.

I bet... Sasuke is going to be able to shoot lazorx beamz with his new EMS. In fact, the beams will be covered in Amaterasu and if you aren't hit by it, you're going to be stuck in a Tsukuyomi. Hell, even Sasuke's Susanoo will be able to fire lzors from its nipples.
why does Naruto need to go to Fox made ...he's got the 6-path glowing chakra cloak on him ...and it has chakra hands and super speed.
And I remember Naruto made tons of Kyuubi+Kage bunshin clones while fighting Kimimaro, nothing bad happened then.
You know, I'm in COMPLETE agreement here. While the downsides of Naruto's previous power-ups I've defended (Sage Mode and all) because they seem like plausible limitations, this is different. This is Kishi scaling back so much that Fox Mode's almost stupid right now. No clones? Time limit? Risk of death? Hell, how does that make him stronger than in Sage Mode? All he gets essentially is this 'new' Rasengan and increased strength/speed, which Sage Mode did anyway.

Yeah he did but he wasn't shown using the Kyuubi chakra cloak that was only in the anime but if you remember when Naruto was going after deidara and he started to go two tails his clones felt pain and disappeared and in his training with FRS the samething happened so it's been right in our faces for time we just didn't catch on.

Now that I think about it Kyuubi mode does have one advantage over Sage Mode: it's instantaneous. <shakes head>
Far as i see it. Fox mode is completely worthless. Already basicly stated. But i'll map it out anyway.
The only advantages thus are increased speed strength senses and kyubi chakra arms.
Sage mode already granted speed strength and senses and even had enhanced range of his punches with frog kata. Then sage mode also had near invunerabily where as he sprained his friggin ankle in fox mode. Furthermore, so long as Naruto doesn't have a clone waiting and gathing chakra. He can make as many sage mode shadow clones as he wants. THen ofcourse sage mode enhances all hus jutsu and not stumps them.
And biggest of all. While sage mode has it's limits. he can reenter it with just a few moments of standing still which a nice distraction could grant and his chakra recovers while in that state while kyubi consumes his chakra in fox mode risking his death and even takeing considerable time to recover the chakra lost.
Also as for the idea of it being too hard to control because he can't make rasengan with one hand.
Consider Sage mode itself. Jiraiya makes rasengan easily. Yet even after all these years never perfected it where as naruto did in a month.
Either he switches back and forth between modes to give himself time or he wil indeed combine them is my hope.
At the very end heŽll probably combine them, or else that foreshadowing was a waste of panels...
I just hope Kishi knows what he does...(yeah right xD).
Kishi is just trying to sharpen the contrast between the Sage's 1st and 2nd son's path which Naruto and Sasuke follow. All of Sasuke's power-ups are chakra Jutsu based and all of Naruto's just strengthen his body. As unfortunate as it is Kishi is hell bent on just having Naruto get bodily upgrades and use only those and his wits to overcome him enemies.
Kishi must be having the worst time of his life trying to figure out how he can make sasuke's new moves more flashy and explosive without nerfing him at all!
the frogs scroll scribbles are still on naruto's hand, so i am hoping he gets to use those scrolls for some ninjitsu or atleast some sealing techniques
