Yes I know this. Thats why in my earlier post I put up "?(idk?)" as a means of saying that not even I am sure. I agree, it doesn't have to be their ashes but I would imagine that in order to make a zombie clone of that caliber (like seriously, the clone even has everything from the special abilities and memories of the dead) I would assume the sand is probably the sand from their burial sight and the ashes being from the burning of their corpses. Ninjas, from what we've seen when 1 dies, seem to be the burying rather than cremating type so being the grave robber Frankenstein type that Orochimaru was he I am willing to believe that he could've gone to the sight where the Hokages were buried, got some of the earth from their grave, stole their corpses, burnt them for the ashes and find some petty humans for host material to have the necessary ingredients he needs for a super powered zombie.

Of course there's no irrefutable proof, just my opinion.

Frankly, Kisame's 'second' death only made as much impact on me as the first. I felt the flashback was superfluous, and it didn't evoke a shred of sympathy for him. And while none of the characters knew it, whether or not he delivered the scroll didn't matter, since Madara could have had him resurrected to cough up the intel anytime. No suspense there.

What interested me more was the part at the end: How could Konan have lacked the common sense to destroy Nagato's eyes? She's not Sakura; she wouldn't have been so emotional as to risk everything he died for just so his corpse would be slightly better to look at(and his eyes would be closed anyway). This, in turn, is assuming she didn't respect her friend enough to give him a decent burial.

Kishi really dug himself a hole with Edo Tensei, cause you know, in a world of Ninja only death is lacking. What's the point of this whole crap shark business when Edo Tensei will just revive them anyway?

However, I did like the flashback between Kisame and Itachi. Even though they always thought they would betray each other in the end, it turns out they have the strongest relationship villain-wise in this manga (well, next to Konan/Nagato). During the Itachi/Sasuke fight, Kisame let Itachi have his final fight, even though he knew Itachi could give some information, but he turned a blind eye rather than go and strike him down like his fellow villagers. It shows a huge amount of respect the two of them had for each other.

As for his actual death... uhh... I'm pretty sure it's already been stated but totally unnecessary.

Dude. I just realized that there is proof to this. Namely Yamato. Oro experimented with Hashirama's DNA, remember? So...He...Went to the cemetary...Dug out the Hokage's body...And...Yeah...And he did it with Tobirama's body too...So he does have their ashes...

I guess she respected her friend way too much to harass his body? She did say she was prepared for this, so I dunno. Let's hope she...Er...That's a bit too harsh. We can't call her a Suckura, because Konan's actually useful...For fanservice if anything.

The fact that they would be burying their dead would be a giant flaw in the story. Ever since the Zabuza arc they have stated that a body must be destroyed to hide any truths about its powers or its village. This should logically apply even if the body is taken back to the village (think Orochimaru). The best thing for ninjas would be to always cremate their dead unless they have some sealing ninjutsu ritual they can perform on the corpse to hide its truths (but no such thing has been stated).

Another thing is that it isn't stated that Orochimaru dug up the First's corpse. He could very well just have samples of his DNA. Toothbrushes anyone? ^^

I thought it was stated that Orochimaru exhumed his body, extracted his DNA, and injected it into 60 test subjects in an attempt to replicate Mokuton?

Same here, his initial flashback was pretty uninteresting as far character development goes and it only made it slightly interesting with the Mizukage cameo and Madara's manipulation of the water ninja. His second flashback with Itachi was better as it showed that Kisame killed himself for Akatsuki's sake and that he cared about his relationship with Itachi in someway, like Divine Dragon said. But yeah, not every appealing character wise.

That said, he was one of the coolest ninjas in the series. Too bad. What bothers is why Kisame was so surprised when Madara removed his mask after the twist that he was Akatsuki's leader. Did Madara hide the fact to Kisame that Tobi was him?

And Edo Tensei can only revive the recently dead, it's not like Madara has a portable dragon ball in his pants.

I'm pretty sure the eyes will end up playing a very important part in the story and i don't mean just for Madara's benefits. Anyways, Konan being ass raped by Madara will probably be pretty boring as there's no tension in that fight whatsoever.

Deidara, Kakuzu and Itachi aren't recently dead, neither were the first two Hokages.

That's just it. Once again Kishimoto is throwing aside ninja logic and common sense in order to move a plot point he has in mind.

why questioning Kisame's death? i guess since he one of main char in akatsuki, his role/death should b playing over a bit..at least not as simple as others..

Konoha does indeed bury their dead. I recall it showing Orochimaru over the First's coffin. Though this may not count. Kakuzu questioned weather they bury their dead meaning he would have to dig up his corpse to bring in for bounty.
