Serious about being a double agent, yes. I dont think she's stupid enough to abandon everything (especially since her village is in the deplorable state it is) just to fulfill her love fantasy with sasuke. I do believe she'd try to go naruto on sasuke to try to make him change his mind but if that fails I think Kishi would give her the courage to stand up to him. Or at least I hope so, Karin was a failure but I dont think Kishi would want to make Sakura out to be like a petty cheerleader like she was.

Yes I have seen so many shit developments in naruto that I wont be surprised if she seriously mean all that she said.

where... the hell... theres no continuity to that flashback AT ALL.
Even if the asshole made up the lion combo in the forest of death before he fought youroi in the preliminaries, which is at the most incredibly unlikely, when the FUCK did he seperate from Sakura and Naruto in the forest. the only possible concieveable time that I think that it could have happened was at the very beginning between the the start of the exam, and when the rain genin popped up, and even then that would mean that karin's original team got the shit beaten out of it faster than team 8 took out that other team, which was in less than an HOUR of the exam starting. Honestly...

On that note... how many people do you think are going to sift through the old manga chapters and see if they can point out karin?

The possiblity of Sakura going turncoat has been in my head for quite a while. My suspicion increased when I saw her shifty look last chapter(after Sai exposed her plan) but I didn't seriously expect it to happen given Kishi's line about her doing something 'more heroic'.

Given the above line it's possible she's going the Tsunade-Orochimaru route and trying to trick him(What a great time for her to show up, then! The position of Sasuke's healer/cheerleader has just opened up!). But it could also be that she really is going turncoat due to her mad love for Sasuke. One thing's for sure; she's been planning this ever since Shikamaru told her about the rookies' decision.

I have my own theory about this development. Kishi's been saying for years that he wants to eventually have a SasuSaku romance(I remember him spouting as far back as 2006 about how Sakura has a special secret hidden place in Sasuke's dark heart and so on). However plot circumstances left absolutely no room for developing such a relationship(leaving aside the fact that Kishi just can't write romance, Sasuke hardly ever gave a shit about his own teammates let alone Sakura

).

So to get that love bandwagon starting Kishi's decided to lump Sakura together with Sasuke for 50 chapters or so and (literally) force a romance between them. That also gives him an out if he decides to kill off Sasuke Vader-style at the end of the manga; we can then have Sakura pregnant with his child and carrying on the Uchiha line.

How's it sound?
