Too bad the vast majority of Jesuke's halfwit fanboys and fangirls still stand up for him. Go over to narutofan and you'll hear arguments like 'Naruto and the Konoha nins killed Akatsuki agents so they're murderers too!' and 'Boohoo! You're biased/ignoring reason/self-contradicting' and other pseudo-intellectual 'arguments' pulled right out the anus. Check out this page and the ones before for a textbook example. I swear, scumbutts like the one calling himself 'Charles..' and the ones whose names start 'K' and 'Fo..' with should be Darwinned for the safety of their fellow men. Their horribly warped viewpoints(All killing = Murder? Including cops and soldiers?) make their existence in our world unsafe.

Getting back to the chapter, how does Kishit think that having Sakura fight her teammates will improve readers' opinion of her? What's the point of fighting Sai and letting Sasuke teleport away? If you want to make her look 'more heroic'(as per the latest interview) then show her standing up to Sasuke for once in her entire life!

And at this point I don't really care about Danzo. I understand Kishi's idea of making him look more sympathetic, but he was willing to let Konoha get destroyed more than once(giving intel to Orochimaru, hiding when Pain attacked) so that he could become Hokage. If that's his idea of saving the ninja world, then no thanks. The ends don't always justicy the means. At most this flashback serves a similar purpose to the scenes of Orochimaru's childhood: it shows that even the biggest villains didn't start out that way.
Well that's why they're fanboys and fangirls. Lol. People are always biased in their opinion, one way or another.

But I do agree that this determines Sasuke's final direction. But really, what's the point of going to Konoha now? Remember Madara stopped Sasuke the first time because Pain already levelled the place, so why now? Just to kill the other two elders? If so then I hope they put up a better fight together...and the old lady better not be hiding and Sharingans behind her always closed, squinted eyes.

Nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if even Brock had Sharingans under those eyelids...

I do still think Sasuke will be redeemed. Not because I'm a Sasuke fan or anything, but rather that Kishi has set precedents and that it would clearly go with Naruto's theme of reforming everyone - and Sasuke's his biggest project. Honestly I wouldn't mind if they made Sasuke backstab Madara halfway to become the main villain, and have Naruto do a deathmatch with him. But I don't think it'll happen. If he becomes good then I'm pretty sure he dies as well (Zabuza did, though...Gaara didn't). But for Naruto's sake at least I guess it's nicer if Sasuke is saved - but he's still gotta pay for everything he's done, though.

I don't feel sad for Danzo but I do think they didn't develop him enough. He seems well-intentioned sometimes and completely selfish other times. Can't tell.

And actually I would like to see Sakura and Sai fight, but I doubt it's gonna be a long fight, maybe just a one-chapter scuffle. Actually it's making me sympathise with Sai more and more because he's calm and collected, but still demonstrates that he cares. And it's about time Sai had a chance to look real cool anyway. Who cares if it involves kicking Sakura around a little.

Why did they show Kakashi and Sai running but NOT Naruto??? Is it 'cause he's still recovering from hyperventilating or something...please no...

Karin was near Danzo when he triggered his seal.
And she is not nearby Sasuke or Madara. I think it's safe to say she is just memory now.

On Gaara/Sasuke parallel, the real question is, Gaara has been "forgiven" (he did alot for his country since then after all) because he was what, 12 during the Chuunin exam? Merely a child or pre adolescent.
Sasuke is 16 now, and willingly chose to follow Oro and Madara.
I can't see how the two cases may be related, really.

The only thing that would absolve Sasuke would be self sacrifice, not compulsory and with no personal gain, and necessary for the hero (Naruto) to win over the last and final boss.
yeah, just like Darth Vader against the Emperor. He can't be saved or redeemed, but he is the penultimate piece of the puzzle after all.

yeah, Naruto is sleeping in a crib, like the big hyperventilating baby he is.

but yeah, about Sasuke, I predict that the series will end with something like what happened with Zabuza. After the battle, Sasuke will come to his senses and then die. Maybe he'll do something self-sacrificing like Vegita did in Dragonball

Well then, that's my cue to completely stop giving 2 shits about Sasuke's character. He will be redeemed of course, since that's the overall theme of Naruto but this Darkness bullshit completely destroyed his character culminating in this, which wasn't anything special to begin with when he was the regular "avenger", people can be evil and not completely terrible at the same.

Also, why the fuck did Kiba's dog meowed?

That was what made him interesting for me, deep down he balanced his own greed of becoming Hokage and leading Konoha with the genuine sense of duty to protect his village and make it a force to be reckoned with.

Theres still a chance that Karin could be alive. Right after Sasuke "stabbed" her Danzou walked a considerable distance, like 30-40 yards, away from her corpse. Theres still a high possibility that sasuke could've used Genjutsu on Danzou and Karin last minute to make it seem like he killed her so that Danzou would drop her (whats the point of using a dead person as a bargaining chip).

I guess the 2nd didn't make it out alive. I always like these flashbacks cause they show how hard-ass, yet similar, the ninja back then were compared to the ninja now (advantage of being a young shinobi during a time of War). It was good to see how Danzou's past experiences contributed to shaping up his current ideals. And his metaphoric speech at the end about Sarutobi being the sun bathing leaves and he being the dark unseen roots with the Yin Yang behind it was one of those lines thats gonna be in my mind for a long ass time. Its official, Danzou dies a hero!!

Gotta say, that was a good read.

Sakura's antics are just plain childish and pathetic. It's as if she didn't heed anything at all that Sai told her in the tent with Tsunade, Shizune, and Shikamaru. Then again, I can't say I believed for a second that she was the calculating type.

As far as Karin's death goes, it was a personal condition of mine to accept Danzo's death; at least, we'd have some closure on Sasuke's intentions. Might I say he also seemed to take a pretty sharp turn with those ambitions. Not too long ago, he reminisced over Team 7 when Hawk was nearly annihilated by Bee, but I guess the heat of the moment does things to you.

What I'm really interested in finding out is how quickly Sasuke will regenerate, this time. In the past, we could assume that it was Karin's battery routine that kept him going through 'SS' rank fights left and right, but now that she's gone, I hope the pace of his ridiculous exploits will slow down a bit. If anything, this is a good type to fall back, lick your wounds, and brood over your dark dominion. Bring on the Naruto training arc!
