Thread: Most powerful person in the manga (other than the sage w/ rineegan)?

I'd hazard a guess that Madara will be beaten by Naruto and Sasuke working in tandem with Itachi's secret powers given to them.

Still, I see no happy ending for Sasuke with Sakura at this point, though I do see Naruto ending up with Hinata eventually, the latest chapters seem to show he's kinda getting over his obsession of Sakura now.

I would think that based on how Kishi uses Sasuke, that in the fight against Madara he'll do a heroic/redeeming sacrifice for Naruto to land the winning blow. At least it'll save Sakura the heart-ache of killing evil Sasuke herself if she witnesses him redeeming himself to take out Madara.

Also I think the fourth is stronger than the first and the second because when Sarutobi was fighting orochimaru he said he had to stop the third coffin no matter what..
i would say not in this order but.. these are the top five.. I'd put minato or sarutobi on top tho

The reason Jiraiya hasn't been listed is because in the manga he never says anything about Jiraiya being stronger, in the Manga, Itachi says "to meet and kill them, its a good place to fight." It is totally different from what is said in the anime. When Jiraiya shows up Kisame says that they were expecting him to arrive anyway, and when Itachi flees, Kisame says "why is retreat necessary for you?" In the manga nothing is ever said about Jiraiya being too strong.

Jiraiya is strong, no question about it, but only about as strong as Orochimaru, maybe a little bit stronger but Itachi beat Orochimaru twice easily. The first time he did it without his mangekyou and the second time he destroyed Orochimaru's most powerful technique while sick and blind. It seems extremely unlikely that Jiraiya would be Itachi's equal.

We know from what is shown later in the Manga that Itachi has been trying to protect Konoha all this time, that is why he did not kill Kakashi and that is why he did not fight Jiraiya. He has secretly been looking out for Konoha, he was putting on an act to avoid suspicion, he was never trying to capture Naruto.

Indeed but stats don't account for everything. For example Kurenai and Orochimaru both have a 5 in genjutsu but their genjutsu was totally useless against Itachi. Orochimaru is ranked as being only 0.5 below Itachi in stats but Itachi beat him easily. The databook stats are a general measuring point for gauging a characters strengths and weaknesses but they do not account for special abilities and such. Just because 2 characters both have a 5 in a certain stat it does not necessarily make them equal it simply means that both are experts in that area. For example, there are many characters that have a 5 in ninjutsu, that does not mean they are all equally skilled in ninjutsu it simply means that they all have S-Class ninjutsu techniques.

yeah. the shinobi world is too varied to have everything ranked from 0-5 and assume that everything is manageable from there.

A good example would be a hypothetical sasori vs. deidara.
in close and medium ranged combat, sasori would rape deidara hands down
but if the fight was a long ranged battle, or if the two were competeing to see who would be able to cause the most damage, Deidara would win with all four (I'm counting the mouth on his chest) tongues sticking out.

I wasn't arguing or anything XD. I just wanted to throw that out there. This whole thread is really speculative in itself, so we cant draw any real concrete conclusions from what the manga provides. Though it IS entertaining to read everyone's reasons as to why they believe ____ is the strongest ninja.

Hm, maybe they should have made the databook scores out of 10, more variety that way

But yeah, I'd take it that anyone at 5 is an expert and they may be at 5 or potentially a 6+ but the scores dont go that far so theyre just a plain 5.

And yeah, I reckon Itachi could have taken down Jiraiya if the two fought. Itachi had the mad skillz.

A very good lineup exept there are some people missing and you got the number one mixed up>>It is a FACT that Hiruzen Sarutobi was stronger than Minato, why? you ask- well it says so here>> Chapter94 page13 where Iruka is talking about the Hokages he says in every translation I have seen (Anime and Manga) that the third was the strongest of all the Hokages. having that in mind I would propose this list:

1. Hiruzen Sarutobi
2. Madara
3. Pein ( I wasen't too sure If I should put Pein ahead of Madara, but I think there will be less complaints if I put him after madara.)
4. Jiraiya- Kages of all other countries-Minato
6. Killerbee- Itachi
7. Danzo-Orochimaru
8. Naruto (as he is now)-Sasuke ( as is) Powerful Akatsuki Members-Sasori-Kakuzu
9. Kakashi-Other countries legendary Jounins-Weaker Akatsuki members- Deidara- Hidan

I think this is my best guess... most of the "power levels" are debateable I wasen't really sure where to place Danzo, I really consider him to be stronger than Sasuke and Naruto but that is very debateable. Another issue was that I couldn't figure out where to put Kisame.>What do you guys think?

Your list is horribly flawed. Sarutobi would be nowhere near the top in that list, and Sasuke would be a few places higher because of MS and elementals.
