Think this settles the shipping wars?

OK, so Sakura told Naruto she loves him, and Naruto basically told her to go jump. Although Naruto's reaction to Hinata's love confession earlier was kept deliberately ambiguous (or possibly simply forgotten about) does anyone else think this decides the NaruHina vs NaruSaku shipping wars by sinking the good ship NaruSaku?

Of course, I still think the question of Sakura's feelings needs some investigation. While I doubt she genuinely loves Naruto the way she says she does, I think it's most likely that she actually does care about him more than Sasuke now (i.e she woke up and smelled the goddamn coffee).

Of course, the most likely circumstance is that the series is not going to bother resolving Naruto's romantic feelings for anyone any more, except possibly in a distant finale where Hokage Naruto will be married to Hinata. Kishimoto doesn't really give much emphasis to romance, although he is better than some shonen writers I could name.

I really havent seen much shipping wars, most people like hinata and naruto espcialyl seeing as hinata basically *died* for him, and not many people liked sakura throught the whole series, much less rooted for her to get with naruto lol, most people Ive seen just want sakura to die a lonely old hag playing with her cats or something...

I couldnt care less, I just wanna know what Madara looks like and what the REAL truth behind him and his lies are

No this doesn't end any shipping wars. We have no clue exactly how Hinata feels about Naruto. I've only seen adoration and Idol worship, and when exactly have her and Naruto even talked?

While Sakura hasn't been as big of a bitch as some people are making her out to be. While I do question the depths of her feelings for Naruto, she's fond of him and I really do think that Naruto is the only stability that she has in her life right now.

I think that Sakura cares about Naruto deeply as a friend and has come to realize that he is certainly more worthy of her love but as Naruto said, she is lying to herself. She wants to love Naruto because she wants to give back to him in some way. When she learned that he loves her, she decided (though perhaps subconsciously) that returning that love would be her way of giving back to him, of supporting him. She sees more and more how much he does for her sake and how greatly he has contributed to her life and she feels that she is becoming more and more incapable of paying him back.

During Naruto's latest fights Sakura wanted to help but found herself almost completely powerless to do so. I believe that she sees herself as a burned to Naruto, someone who he has to save and protect. She feels like she hasn't given back to him and he has given so much for her sake. When she learned that he loves her, she saw it as her chance to really have a positive impact on his life, to be more than a burden and bring him happiness instead of hardship. I think she also realized that her love for Sasuke is not really justified, she has convinced herself that she shouldn't love Sasuke because she now feels he doesn't deserve it. Again, like Naruto said, she is lying to herself, she still does love Sasuke but she wants to love Naruto because he has always been there for her and Sasuke abandoned her.

So far Sakura has been choosing to follow her heart over her head and has ignored Sasuke's indiscretion because she loves him blindly but now she his using her head and is realizing that Naruto is the one who deserves her. Naruto has done all the right things standing by her through thick and thin. Sakura has finally realized just how good Naruto has been to her and has chosen him as her logical love. Naruto sees the truth though and while he does indeed love Sakura he sees where her heart lies and is not content to be merely be chosen because he is the good guy.

As far as pairings go I don't venture to guess who ends up with who, but I will say that I hope it doesn't end with everyone pairing up. I think that is incredibly typical and not at all true to life, love leaves many casualties. I don't mind if a couple characters end up together but definitely I think some of the romances should end in heart break for one character or the other. I think that is a part of growing up that the characters should have to go through.

I think so too on this. I'm actually glad Kishi gave the shipping wars their due de-prioritization in the last 50 or so chapters. Both Naruto and Sasuke are major players in the war and in the events unfolding, and adding needless romantic entanglements during times when they are realistically unlikely to occur or matter anyways is annoying (especially since so many animes and mangas like to do this).

Hmm, I don't really see too much of a difference here than between Sakura and Sasuke. She liked him because he looked cool and was a good ninja, if you remember. Only difference is that Sasuke ended up being on the same team, and he has shown sympathy for her 3 times (though none of those moments implied more than friendship).

On Naruto and Sakura, I think Naruto gave up his hopes on any romantic relationship between them right after Sakura made him promise to bring back Sasuke.
