Default Chapter 467: the final shark-hurdling.

The ten-tails? The Rikudou Sennin being "like unto a god"? Madara's plan being to recreate the jyuubi, become its jinchuuriki and brainwash the entire world because "there is no such thing as hope"? He cheerfully tells his entire plan to the assembled kages and expects them to simply hand over Naruto and Killer Bee?

I'm sorry, this really is too much. Naruto (the series) has expanded a lot from its origins, which you'd expect, but in the process the plot has gone, to coin a phrase "snooker-loopy" and I just can't take it seriously any more. I mean seriously, what is this crap? So apparently Madara wants to rule the world?

    Bison: OF COURSE!

Seriously, enough of the Nietzsche-wannabe villains. Paine was bad enough, Madara is just a bridge too far, combining the pointless nihilism with a bland faux-instrumentality plan relying on asspull last-second additions to the series. (A 10-tails? Had Kishimoto completely forgotten what he based the kyuubi on originally? Well to be honest, that was obvious as soon as he created "the bijuu".)

I'm done treating this series with any respect. It's hurdled an entire ocean of sharks in one chapter. I'll keep reading it out of train-wreck fascination, but the days of taking it seriously are over.

Did anyone else have this reaction?
The Dream Wedding: My first one-shot Naruto fanfiction.
Naruto: the Secret Songs of the Ninja: My epic "what if" story where Sasuke never survived the battle against Haku.

Top ten reasons why NaruHina will become canon:
    7. Naruto saw Hinata dancing naked in a waterfall, and he totally digs that.
    10. Hinata has giant boobies.

Meh...its just a kids manga...not some kind of literal masterpiece, if you want that...well youd be better off getting that from a real book, rather than a manga aimed at 13-19 year olds

I just want to see naruto kick ass....

    Maybe see sakura die,

    see Madaras actual face

see naruto become hokage and kick more ass as a grown up adult with 3454235346 jutsus, bodyflicker sage mode and kyuubi

    yeah..thats it really.

Meh...least it isnt bleach, that shit is boring. Ive forgotten what the point and story was supposed to be in that one lol.

Althoguh, I really hope youre not losing sleep over this chapter...

You might not like the direction this story is going, but you got to admit that Kishimoto is worth some credit for spending years telling us an entertaining story, one chapter at the time. I find the shounen long-runners to be the peak of creativity, at least in terms of determination. No money in the world could make me stick to one story for so long without wanting to kill myself.

no no no, you are doing it wrong. If it were like bleach, half the page would be black ink, theo ther half a guy in a pose, and if you were unlucky enough to have dialogues, the story would move an inch forward per chapter. all of those chapters being easy to summarize in less than 2 lines, too.

But madara's moment of revelations came off as really retarded to me too. Good thing I haven't really cared much about Naruto ever since Deidara blew himself and a 10 km radius around him because of the arrogant sharingan eyes (he having hanged around tobi, sharingan user, for months) and failing to kill anything.

Yea I'll have to admit as young poster but elder statesman of this series, one has to always remember who the manga is catered too. I really stay tuned because of the unknown. Kabutomaru, Madara's face, when they are going show the real power of Byakugan, Narutos growth. Yea good times baby...good times. The does seem like it's forgotten about it's roots at times, but for the most part it's cool. Oh yea can't forget the anime and how it fills in some of the loop holes.

I agree with the OP of course, and I don't buy the whole 'it's a manga for kids' excuse. The earlier parts of the manga were far more sophisticated. Gaara, Neji, Lee, Haku, Orochimaru and even Naruto, their back stories and motivations were good and believable, the writing set a certain standard of how the rest should unfold, but we're disappointed time and time again now. It's like kishimoto doesn't really care any more.

In my opinion the major turning point where the manga went really downhill was the moment Naruto went to train with the frogs. After this the whole village turned out to be so useless, and everyone was relying on Naruto. Kishimoto pretty much ruined the character Pain with the unoriginal idea that Nagato who had experienced a life pain (which is weak in comparison to someone like gaara), and that he had his mind changed in just a couple of minutes of talking with Naruto. And then had everyone brought back to life in such an unrealistic way, including bringing back Hinata and Kakashi, showing to his audience that popular characters won't have any realistic chance to die.

I liked how kishimoto wrote how naruto reacted to the death of Jiraiya, but ever since then Naruto's behaviour has become increasingly annoying. From things like punching his own dad in the stomach, to willingly taking a beating, to begging the raikage to spare sasuke. It's like kishimoto is intentionally trying to make his audience hate the character of Naruto (I know its working on me). Kishi was trying to make Naruto like a brave, sacrificing martyr type, but instead he makes him look like a complete fool. And then he gets people like kakashi to tell us that he's surpassed Jiraiya and the 4th? Yeah right. Show me realistically how this character has grown to be anywhere near those two without having a character state it.

This links to the nonsense of raikage killing sasuke would somehow start a war. I don't know what kishi was smoking when he came up with that.

Then we have the ease of which Danzo became hokage. I don't mind it happening, but the WAY it happened is stupid. The king of the fire country is persuaded with just a few words, and that's that. That's some sophisticated government system you have there!

I also don't like the idea that Naruto has the 'body' of the Ridukou Sennin's son (who has spikey hair), and thus explaining why he's a goody-two shoes, and Sasuke the eyes of the other son (who has black bangs), this simplification is disrespectful to the intelligence of his audience. konoha is only part of one of the 5 countries, that every single thing pivots around it and the uchiha clan.

The latest revelations spoken to the Kages, I'm hoping isn't really the truth. I hope that Madara is just telling them a fallacy.. But of course, I hoped the same thing would happen about when Madara told Sasuke all about his brother and the Elders, and so far, it seems that kishi was indeed telling the real story to his audience in this manner.

I'm not going to cover all my points on what I dislike about Naruto
And Yeah Naruto was fun back when it just started.

nowaday you read it, just to see if Kishi is going to finish his Saga like how his brother had finished working on 666 Satan.

and will somebody make me a drawing of Madara jumping over Kisame?

I don't have a problem with Madara being behind the Kyuubi, because that would be one of the things that would take out one of the best ninja in the world without being fingered exclusively. I don't have a problem with the Kyuubi and Uchiha connections.

I do have a problem with the marginalization of the role of women in the story (how we haven't seen a good fight with a women in it since Oro, Jir, and Tsu back in pt. 1).

I do have a problem with Nagato being obviously second fiddle to Madara. I don't have a problem with him backing Naruto. Maybe it was a little too fast, but overall I don't think Nagato was really evil and he was dying.

I do have a problem with how Kishi made it so that we can expect no one from the main cast to die. Even if they get blown up and stabbed by a person who has absolutely no reason to not kill them (I'm looking at the fact that Hinata gets rocked in one chapter and then in the next there's a throw away panel that shows specifically that she was alive, just screamed fan rage at killing a cast member that has the most number of passes in the manga). After that the deus-ex machina doesn't really matter to me.

Hate Naruto's personality at this point. It's like he loses his spine when doing anything involving Sasuke. Maybe the Sakura storyline coming up will change things for him and make it so that he doesn't have to stick out his neck so much for him anymore.

Hate the fact that Naruto hasn't made an appearance at the Kage conference. Maybe something like that happens this week.

But meh, I don't really get that much of a thrill reading manga anymore, I'm just reading it to have something to do.
