What makes you think the 1st Hokage doesn't have any living descendants? Tsunade is the granddaughter of the 1st, and she's still alive (although unconscious...).

If the Uchiha bloodline survived the 4 or so generations since the village was founded, why wouldn't the Senju bloodline survive?

the senju blood line is alive...its just that the mokuton jutsu were an ability of the first hokage, not the senju clan.
makes u wonder if he carried the senju name all by himself....

ugh, something tells me that after this crapfest, either Naruto's mom is going to "mysteriously" re-appear or something else completely predictable will happen.

The scan isn't really good enough to see what kind of eye the elder brother has, it kind of looks like the rinnegan, I can't make out any tamos. If it is the sharingan, that's a huge disappointment, because we know that the sharingan is an off-shoot from the byakugan. If those eyes are really full of vengence, than how come we haven't seen this effect from hyuugas.. and well, although Nagato was vengeful, his motives didn't come from his eye since konan and yahiko had the same motivations. This twist is poorly conceived imo. We found out earlier that there were loads of clans out there, from that panel which had all the emblems on a sheet. Sure, those 2 clans- the uchiha and the senju did become the two most powerful, but it's kind of absurd to put that down to a convenient fact that they had the only 2 inherited gifts from the 1st ninja.
There have been loads of sharingan, byakugans users, and never was their vengeful nature picked up, but no, since it happened between the 2 orginal brothers, and between madara and the 1st, that's enough of a pattern to explain sasuke v naruto right?.. give me a break.
all this stuff about naruto having the will of fire from and love being the key to peace is kind of nauseating too.. It kind of means Naruto's 'special gift' that he has in convincing people he's talked to is now explained, rather than it just being the strength of his character.
It's kind of like midichlorians all over again.

I though the same thing when he covered his eyes.. however when he looked in Raikage's guard's eyes we CLEARLY saw his regular sharingan. The symptoms of the genjutsu however were 100% MS like. Regualar Sharingan genjutsu does really inflick that much, if any, mental stress. That guy is fricken coldsweating and shit. He's down for the count. It evens out though, Raikage took out of of sasuke's lackeys so sasuke did the same.

Ok.. ever since Madara told Sasuke the story of Konoha's history we ALL knew that naruto and sasuke are just repeating history... but could kishi just leave that alone for his readers to interpretate?? NO!! He just had to paint a clearer, BLUNT, picture of it. The sharingan is put on a higher pedestal than p***y itself.... and we all know thats the highest there is for men. All the Uchiha are just greedy powerhungry pricks dammit! The Hyuuga and their damn misguided superiority complex. HAHAHA. If they only knew how LESS the ninja world revolved around them and more on their "lower classed" step brothers.

And yes Witcher i agree with you when u say Darui is gone next. His sword has been targeted by Suigestu. And y the hell does the Successor, seemingly, doesnt have a Rinnegan and sharingan instrad?? So the Sharingan came before the Byakugan?? WTF was Nagato then?? Damn Sharingan Superiority complex!!

So that would make Tsuande like his aunt or cousin possibly. I forsee the sharingan will become a god, that will have many followers who worship it long after Sasuke is dead and the uchiha clan is gone.

Actually, I think the elder "son" (they weren't clear on this) inherited the Rinnegan, and I think Madara said so too. But over time, since there's only one of him, it sorta...devolved, or watered down to become the Sharingan. Perfectly understandable, even if the designs of the eyes are a bit different. What gets me is that the Sharingan was supposed to be descended from the Byakugan. So what's this? The way I see it, there are only two answers; one, Rinnegan => Byakugan => Sharingan, which means that the bloodline split into two and that both the Hyuuga and Uchiha are descendants, which also means the Hyuuga are the older ones. But then why are they not mentioned? The second answer; Kishi messed up in his effort to further emphasise the significance of Naruto and Sasuke.

Chapter ain't bad, though. Raikage's really strong it seems, Juugo's surprise attack didn't seem to do anything. But that genjutsu really seemed like Tsukuyomi, or at least an MS genjutsu. In which case I think Sasuke is being a bit overeager here. I'm sure he knows he gets blinder faster every time he uses it - and unless he really does intend to take Itachi's eyes sooner or later, he should know it's a stupid thing to do.

Is it me, or did Sasuke just only very recently develop these really hatred-filled eyes? I mean, after fighting Killerbee and discovering he had Amaterasu, he seemed kinda satisfied. Happy he had a better weapon. All that's happened since then is him hearing that Konoha's already obliterated (which is upsetting, granted, but it shouldn't cause this) and that the Kages are meeting. So why is he suddenly so angry and all? In previous battles he was pretty calm, now he's losing it a bit. And I think that Raikage, being in losing-it-mode all the time, has the advantage.

True right?? Hashirama was the only Senju with Mokuton and the abilty to control the Bijuu yet he had many Senju followers so all sasuke has to do if gather a group to worship him and his cause then boom.. Uchiha clan part 2, just they wouldn't have sharingans. He'll have his choice of the finest women then 13-15 years later we have the next generation sharingan users.

1)Once again, a major event/legend of the ninja world has become linked to the Uchiha and Senju. This just too unrealistic; first the main villain arose from the rivalry, then all the Bijuu apparently belonged to Senju, and now we learn that even the Great Sage was an ancestor of the Uchiha and Senju and the reason for Sasuke's hatred. Everything that happened between Naruto and Sasuke was purely due to their own choices, why cheapen that with this 'destined to be rivals' crap?

2)'I can tell the fire of the Senju clan dwells within you.' Maybe it's just the translation, but I find this line to imply something deeper than it seems. Could Naruto be a descendant of the Senju through his father(Minato's mother??)?

3)The Raikage's toast. One of his lackeys is down and the other is marked for death(Suigetsu wants his sword). And Sasuke's got no more reason to continue this fight now that he's established his 'hatred path' or whatever. If he doesn't go down with this Chidori, it'll be the Mangekyou for him.

4)Looks like Kishi realized he'd made his 'Sasuke chakra monster' too similar to the Kyuubi and changed its appearance. But I feel the whole Monster-shadow- background thing to emphasize a character's anger/insanity is too overdone.

There are only two things that puzzle me.

A)Were the two brothers the Rokudo's sons or were they simply chosen by him to carry on his legacy and blessed with his powers? The text isn't clear on that regard. And if they were his sons, why did the elder brother clearly have a Sharingan when he supposedly inherited Rokudo's eyes?

B)Sasuke's genjutsu seemed to be a regular Sharingan thing but did anyone notice he was covering his eye in the next panel? Could this is what that 'exploit fearful hearts' MS jutsu really looks like?

Any opinions here?

Yea it does seem that naruto is a descendant of the Senju Clan(it does also seems that most of Konoha's ninjas aren't descent of the senju). You kinda knew Naruto would have to be part of an important clan just like how Sasuke is part of one.

On a serious tip, I think that Madara is telling this to Naruto so he can influence Naruto's decision. Remember if Naruto really believes that Sasuke has given into hatred he might stop thinking he can change Sasuke back like how he did with Pain. My guess is even after knowing the truth, Naruto might still try to save Sasuke.
