While I can't agree that Sasuke would just know what Danzo looks like, I also have to point out that Danzo was someone Itachi had to deal with when begging for Sasuke's life. As such, it would be a little odd for Danzo and Madara to be the same person and Itachi not figure it out.

not necessarily sasuke know danzo's face since danzo should be leader in the dark..and i predicting sasuke attacking konoha/danzo but there come naruto to stop and fight him in order to defend new hokage..

ACTUALLY sasuke never saw anzous face, he left teh village before danzo made an apperance in teh manga

and even if itachi KNEw he was madara we dont really know since a) the story came form madara himself

and b) itachi never said anything to sasuke about him being madara

c)because of a) everyone KNOWS madara is leaving some very important info out of the whole story.

remember he still has to paint himself to sasuke as not danzo or whatever so he said that bit about itachi threatening danzo . . .by telling other countries about him. . .not neccesarily killing him (and why wouldnt ITACHI be able to kill danzo? a guy with one eye and one arm? hmm. . .)

yeah itach idid "see" madara as madara and not as danzo. . but madara is obviously way way way stronger than itach, so couldnt madara have been genjusuing him to make him look like madara and not danzo? or the other way around in making everyone appear like he's danzo when hes not. . .

Theres a reason why hes wearing a mask and I pray to god that hes not obito or else I wont ever come back from my break from this manga.

one thing I DO predict though is that when sausugay comes to konoha, him and naruto will talk sicne akatsuki obviously didnt capture naruto and naruto will tell him about the masked man who was controlling the kyubi when the 4th (his father) sealed it then sasuke will realize that madara was lying his ass off and they'll team up again.

of course this is speculation. but sasugay will find out the truth sooner or later.

Lets not forget the fact that Kishi based his characters on mythical/legendary ninjas like jiraiya, tsunade ect....

Danzou in mythology was a master of illusions being able to fool whole crowds into seeing what he wanted, and after escaping an abush/assasination atempt by his own master, who was afraid of him, he was then called Tobi Kato aka Flying Kato. So i dont know...if kishi is gonna stick by the legend then Danzo is Tobi, if not oh wells.

Ah, I'm so very late. And such a major development too. Damn that exam. And to think I'm likely to fail in the end...

Ah, well. Though no one's going to read it at this point, my opinions:

No one's wondered how damn forced and implausible the development of Danzo's election as Hokage seemed. It was even worse than Nagato suddenly believing in the ideals he'd rejected for 25+ years.

1)First of all, how does the Daimyo have sole authority to choose the new Hokage? He's supposed to be the Hokage's equal in rank(the 'two kings'). How can he just overrule all the shinobi and select their leader and his equal just on a whim? When the Sandaime died, the Councillors were the one who chose the next Hokage(speaking of which, why didn't Danzo pull this shit then?).

2)Secondly, is the Daimyo mentally retarded? Whether Sandaime's policies were wrong or not, where's the logic in linking them to Kakashi, the pupil of his pupil's pupil? And all this coming from Danzo: what did he ever do to deserve the Hokage seat? He contributed nothing to the village; he tried to stop Naruto from saving it and he hid in a hole for the entire duration of the battle. And even setting that aside, he's EVEN OLDER THAN SARUTOBI! Kakashi's too young? How about a Hokage that'll keel over in a couple of years giving everyone the impression that Konoha's weak for constantly changing leaders?

Seriously, it's like Kishimoto just decided to do away with logic and just made Danzo the Hokage just because he needed to.

PS: If the villages are this subservient to their Daimyos, then ironically Pain, the leader of a 'minor' village, actually wielded far more power than any Hokage ever did; because he was both the Kage and the Daimyo of the Rain country. And that applies to Konan too.

Yeah, I agree with all of that, it's along the lines of what I posted here earlier. I just think kishi is writing more in a way in which the end justify the means. In other words, he decides where he wants the plot to go, and then just clumsily arranges the circumstances to accomplish that goal. The problem with that is it feels so forced and unbelievable and does the manga a disservice.
I once said that it's like kishimoto is racing towards his objectives, and that's never been more the case than in the last few chapters. It's funny because there have been times where the plot has moved quite slowly.. for example, Naruto's training portions. But now the twists that demand a lot of pacing and time, kishi is just rushing through them without any intricacy or sophistication.
