Why naruto is going down hill (...or is at the bottom already)

Firstly, it takes me about 1-2 minutes to read a chapter.

Secondly, the artwork is pisspoor compared to the first 50-100 chapters.

The anime takes 2 chapters, and combines them fro a 20 minute episode. If it takes me 2 minutes to read a chapter, and they convert it to a 20 minute episode ...that is 16 minutes of edited filler they do not need.

Because there is so little in each chapter, the story is literally moving at a snails pace. If Kishimoto simply out of ideas or bored?

IMO, the first 2 arcs of Naruto were amazing. Zabuza and Haku were GREAT characters, and the story just flowed so well. Naruto as a shonen really jumped away from all the others. Even the chunnin exam was amazing. So many things you wouldn't expect, interesting plots, good fights, Orochimaru appearing...it was all so well done.

Then the manga starting goind down hill. The animation in the anime got shoddier, the manga pages were thinner. Its like everyone on the job just got bored.

Anyway, for me, Naruto will always be a favorite, but only due to the first 2 arcs. I can't even stand reading/watching anymore.

then move to another manga. it's a free market. don't like the product, go somewhere else :p
i rather like the pain arc, shows a lot of growth for naruto, and the tough choices he has to make: does peace justify war.

as for bored, man there're so many different directions the story can go now. im rather excited, and a tad impatient haha. waiting every week for a 2min reading is rather painful.

i still don't quit understand the mysterous behind pain's eyes. if it's a bloodline, then are there other clansmates that can use it?

A friend of mine has been doing a project where she takes five or six Shippuuden episodes, cuts out all redundant material, (mostly flash backs,) and pastes together whatever is left. This leaves a 35-40 minute compilation. A really nice way to view it, when it isn't 100% non-canonical fill like the current stuff.

The anime is terrible now, but I think the Manga is still going strong, it has its problems but in many ways I think the Manga is as good as it has ever been (even though it hasn't entirely gone the way I would have liked). While it may have its short comings there have been several major developments that have a lot of potential.

Has a shounen story ever migrated to seinen. I just think that maybe the readers are growing up with Naruto too and maybe they can now make the story more serious or create a serious story for one of the Naruto characters perhaps.

I could think that Sasuke could have a very serious storyline and Neji or Shikamaru could probably hold their own as well.

I think that could be an important factor. I got into Naruto like 2 years ago so i went from the beginning all the way to the post time skip part in one go. I saw a difference in the story and characters as the series went on but it didnt matter to me.

I think the only thing pissing me off is how shot the manga chapters are. As someone said they really are moving at a snails pace, but then again if Kishi stuffed more content into one chapter the depth would suffer. I think the chapters just have to be longer by at leat 8-10 more pages...

Downhill? Ah come on! The Naruto/Pain fight was awesome and we're finally seeing Naruto turning into a badass. We still have Sasuke, Tobi/Madara, and the meeting with the Hokage's/Potential Ninja War to get to, not to mention a possible training arc with the 8 tails

Anybody who reads manga is already used to waiting. I'm really hurting with the wait for both Gantz and Berserk so compared to them Naruto is moving lightning fast.

If you want to see a manga go downhill what about Bleach? Man that had so much potential.

Haha, I still read the naruto manga but I quit watching the forsaken anime. Mainly because of the huge drop in quality and the two year period of pure fillerness. IMO the quality of the manga too has fallen (although nowhere near as much as the anime), everything is dragged on for as long as possible and the chapters just aren't as satisfying xd. It annoyed me when they altered the plans for 'tobi' being kakashi's old friend just because of its mass predictability :)

you do realise that the first 20-50 chaps of a manga are supposed to be overkill artwork wise because the author/artist is still trying to sell the idea/story at the time. i agree that the original art of naruto was better in several ways than how its made now, but it would probably kill kishi in some way if each chapter was done in such detail week after week. as for how short the chapters are, yeah, they could at least be around 3-4 pages longer for the reader's sake. the only real thing i have trouble with is that naruto's costume (minus the coat) is pretty bad and that he needs more development in more than a few areas (fighting style, move array, maturaty, intelligence, needs to be less of a pussy, deal with the bloody kyubi already...). aside from that, the manga is going strong in general. as for the anime fillers, there are only 2 left before the series goes cannon again. remember that half these fillers are to fix plot holes that kishi forgot to fix in the manga.
