What are you talking about? Please let that be a joke. The only people who had "Plans" for Tobi being "Kakashi's old friend" (Obito, by the way) were crazy internet fans.

Such as? What, Naruto adventuring with the two tails is to fill a plot hole? Least I think thats what the fillers are.... haven't watched them. What plot holes do you speak of? And how can there be a plot hole in a story that isn't finished?

plot holes such as the one currently being fixed where the remaining konoha 12 don't know about naruto being a jinchuriki, yet for some reason they seem ok with it in the soon to be animated chapters (kabuto talking, hinata's lack of surprise). while it hasn't been fixed quite yet, its obvious that deidara will be yapping off one of his mouths about naruto holding the kyubi to everyone there. otherwise, the holes are really not worth mentioning.

Oh undoubtably the series isn't what it used to be. The recent invasion by Pain gave us some decent action scenes (including the simply AWESOME parts where Hinata confessed her love for Naruto and Naruto unleashed the Kyuubi all the way up to 8 tails) but the story has been pretty paper-thin with Hinata not actually managing to accomplish anything aside from her heroic sacrifice (and then having THAT degraded by having her healed up to practically full strength less than 10 minutes later) and the 4th Hokage showing up out of nowhere to totally defuse what was looking like being the coolest scene in the manga to date in a Deus Ex Machina of EPIC proportions (and Fail). And now after a long, boring and predictable story about Pain's past (grow a pair, your sob story is nothing compared to Gaara's) Naruto has apparently talked him into changing his mind over the ideology that led him to slaughter more than half of Konoha, just so he can sacrifice his life rather than having Naruto kill him.

The series was really good up until the "year of Sasuke" when Kishimoto apparently forgot who the title character of his manga was (and even then the Killerbee story was awesome, largely because it made Sasuke look like a tool) but it's just running out of steam. Of course, with a new arc starting soon there's always the possibility that things will get better, so I'm not ready to give it up yet. Hopefully things are building up to an awesome climax and the series will finish by the end of this year.

On the other hand, nothing can convince me to watch the anime any more. I stopped watching after the Naruto/Orochimaru battle in the Grass Country arc and given the subsequent filler I'm glad I did. The animation never recovered from the shitkicking it received over the original filler arcs (which is plain weird) and they've elevated episode padding and pointless unneccesary plot changes into an art form (if your idea of art is hurling shit at a canvas and spray-painting whatever sticks).

i rather like the pain arc, shows a lot of growth for naruto, and the tough choices he has to make: does peace justify war.

as for bored, man there're so many different directions the story can go now. im rather excited, and a tad impatient haha. waiting every week for a 2min reading is rather painful.

i still don't quit understand the mysterous behind pain's eyes. if it's a bloodline, then are there other clansmates that can use it?

the action in manga havent been down.. but it only takes 2 or 3 min to read the whole chapter.. i am finding one piece and bleach much more interesting now a days than naruto..

I agree, it's better to have a few friends and have most of them killed than having no idea what friendship means because everyone is fucking afraid of you.

Personally, I can't wait to read Naruto each week, the story seems to be progressing smoothly. However, I would like a few more pages added onto the chapters. Then again, I don't really know what the artist's life/schedule is, but I'm sure he's busy. Pain's flashback as a kid was very boring, but most backstories for characters are. Now who's ready to see some nature/kyuubi combo?

Ummm nah i have to disagree with bleach and one piece being more interesting and remember just my opinion...but bleach has just been eradicating aizens top fighters for months; i mean dont get me wrong i enjoy seeing the bankai and other attacks that the capts and other fighters havent shown until now but damn are we really gonna lose any captains? I think no. and one piece is great but damn get out of impel down and do something wroth while...I want to see what white beard and shanks are up 2 cause luffy and co. beating everyone but the chief warden has gotten boring to me.

Naruto has always been character development then action, character development then action....so deal or move on i mean the next chap or chap after that will def have sauke in the fire country so chill out and wait for the story to develop. I'm curiuos to see what power itachi gave naruto so I'm here for the long haul, this manga is almost over anyway so just deal ok guys?

HOw the heck is Naruto going Downhill? Besides the whole Naruto-Sasuke love thing or obsession, I think it has been pretty good for a whole year. I only read two shounen mangas: Naruto and Beezelbub(funny as hell and it kiks ass). That says a lot since i hate shounen and if i can bring myself to read them, it gotta tell you something.

@ Rocklee : if the last chapters of OP are boring for you,then you have serious problems, man xD

Anyways,I gotta agree that Naruto isn´t going downhill.At least in the last chapters the story was pretty entertaining/exciting...
Can´t wait for what Naruto will do with the new "Sasuke situation" xD
