Sorry, it was a part of another post and I melt it up... And I'm not a fan of Madara and Danzo communicating. I see it more like Danzo using this situation the best he can, just as you do.

At the beginning of the manga, i always felt "absorbed" by the anbu.. their mysterious deadly figure (masks, tattoos, dark uniform), their anynomity.. (bad spelling)...

but yeah, like other manga/comics, details such as this will be lost/forgotten throughout the story..which is bad, because these details is what makes narutoverse interesting in the first place. (complicated/order of power/hierarchy,bla..bla...bla...)

About the ANBU....They are freakin shit....I think Kishimoto forgot they supposed to be the elite,the best of the best.

God, everyone's still moaning about the ANBU? Look, the ANBU are strong, but they simply DO NOT COMPARE to legends. The Sannin? Fucking Pain?? Traditionally, legends like Kakashi and Itachi would join the ANBU in their earlier years before joining the general populace, becoming S Class ninja, and then becoming mentors, so isn't it easy to assume that although the ANBU are good, they can simply be both/either A) too young and inexperienced against others who were already veteran ANBU or have followed a similar path/fought a war that demands the same work and strain as the ANBU and/or B) are simply no match against those are likely in the top 20-30 ninja in the entire Naruto WORLD shown to us so far?

Besides, even at the beginning of the Manga, ANBU couldn't match up to Orochimaru, Kakashi, or even Kabuto. Although intimidating, they were never really that strong to begin with.

You cant call the ANBU shit because we've never seen them do anything, there not even important characters, when Danzo tries to take over then we can see what root can do then we can judge them.

Edit: Heh, i just realized this will be the first time we´ll actually see Naruto and a small frog army at his disposal to engage in an actual fight.

After dozens of drawings of Naruto with all sorts of frog companions, it sounds surprisingly cool.

I kind of agree about Anbu, from what we've seen they've been rather useless. They didn't really do much during the sound's attack on konoha, and they didn't do much this time, apart from an attempt by them to bind one of Pain's summons. Yamato came from Anbu and it's implied that Anbu is filled with ninjas with similar power to that of him and kakashi, but they're always overshadowed by named characters, which I can see the reason for (story/character development), but the logistics don't add up when you consider that anbu are meant to be the elite and they're hardly seen doing anything.
