I don't see why Pein would know as much as he does about the demons and have techniques for sealing them, assuming he is the kid Jiraiya trained. It could be that Madara came to Pein with the plan and method for sealing them and that's why he's the leader.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. I don't think Madara is stronger, so him manipulating Pein in the same way he seems to be doing with Sasuke makes the most sense to me. I doubt Madara's goal is the same as what Pein said he had planed to do with the demons to Jiraiya. Causing the world to change in a positive way through fear, pain and mass murder is something only he would come up with lol

@Jaggid - Rather than controlling the clones, it may be possible to infuse them with a bit of your 'will'. In that way Kisame and Itachi wouldn't need to control them directly, but could give them a low-level sort of independence. Perhaps it works the same with Pein. Then only one of the clones needs full control/major will infusion. He can direct the others.

Ok, so you're saying the clones are like AIs that played with the Konoha Nin with certain settings turned on (in Itachi's case, don't kill, just convince) while the two focused their attention to the extraction. In that case... what was I going to say...

EDIT: Oh, doesn't this suggest that this technique is what causes the CCTV ability and not the Rinnegan? Itachi and Kisame were obviously paying attention to both cases, and they weren't in either location. In other words, that they had the vision of the extraction, the fight, and their actual location WITHOUT the Rinnegan.

Or does this mean that Nagato can loan Rinnegan's abilities to more than just dead clones?

They couldn't SEE what was taking place at their clones location. Yea they were concentrating but that was because they had to link their chakra with the clones. They knew they lost because they couldn't FEEL the link anymore. The CCTV, so far, is a rinnegan technique,
