Good to know. And he has always been weak willed. The need for power for revenge, having found out he has been manipulated his whole life, that he has been the result of 16 years of work by his brother.

Yea....i think his mind would be a little fcked. And he has every right to be weakwilled and messed up after all that shit. Especially being friends with naruto, who has the power to make friends with almost anyone and the type of loyalty brotherhood they had when they were kids.

Now...just imagine a rebellious teenager with powers.

Now....just imagine a rebellious teenager who is considered a genius, been manipulated for his whole life, having been tortured mentally by watching his entire family die over and over again by his brother no less and has the power to wipe out a small army of ninjas and is considered an S-class ninja.

Whatever may have happened in the past, there is no excuse for Sasuke to attack innocent people - especially those ones who were/are his allies.

You know, that is much easier SAID then done. The mind is a really complicated process puzzle and i really hate it when people assume things so easily. You are very wrong. There are many manga, movies, tv series with good guys turned bad and attacking there own friends, allies and whatnot. I really don't understand how people can just say otherwise like you Dante

^So, oldmagic(Just curious, how old are you?), are you suggesting that Sasuke is just a misunderstood, poor, innocent character who deserves unconditional mercy and respect regardless of how many innocent lives he may ruin in the future?

Well, I'll just say two things:
1)Naruto is a manga intended mostly for a young teenage audience and while there are cases like Sasuke of people skirting the line between good and evil, it's more straightforward and less complex than you make it seem. Don't delve too deeply into the 'shades of gray' mentality.

2)You're right, Sasuke's been through a lot and that has shaped his decision. But his case is different from, say, Gaara's, where there was only one possible outcome of his suffering. Sasuke had a choice; he could have respected Itachi's sacrifice, dropped his grudge and ended the cycle of violence. He didn't. There are many others who've suffered like him(various villagers orphaned by war or the Kyuubi attack, Naruto, Kakashi whose loved ones were all killed) but we don't see many avengers running around sseking revenge, do we? Sasuke is a lot harder to sympathise with when you consider that others have have had it as bad or worse than him and yet have not allowed themselves to be consumed by anger and bitterness.

If someone confronted your Sasuke with this fact, he'd probably counter with something like 'they didn't seek revenge because they were too weak' or 'the life of an Uchiha is more valuable than theirs' or something.
    I'M NO HERO, BELIEVE IT!

    1) Younger?! Are you serious?! There are explicit languages in shippudan and naruto is very heavily on the matters of grey lines. It's blurred to the point where there is no black and white at all.

    2) I don't have the attention span to read that. lol i really don't feel like it and i'll address that later.

And i'm 20. Oh and that is not what i'm saying about Sasuke. There are many characters who had pasts like sasuke and worse, and they act practically the same way...though most of them are baddass. And Sasuke IS a child in our world but in his world, 11, or when you graduated, you are considered an adult.

    @The Witcher

The thing is, Sasuke did have it the worst in this manga that i could recall.
And I don't think oldmagic was implying on what you said, about the whole
he needs unconditional love and shit.
But he lost his whole family and clan to not just any murderer, but his very own brother.
And he's been seeking revenge all his life and then he finds out his brother was ordered to do so
    because of the village.
hmm... Because of the village he lost his whole family, clan, and his very beloved brother.
It's pretty realistic the way he is acting. Even so, I will agree with you. He is very weak willed and still had a choice. He's just a depressed kid that wants to kill everyone. Just like... let's say the Virginia tech incident?

At least Sasuke has every right to kill while the guy from tech does not. Different worlds with different rules.

    ^^^
Yeah I know. It's just an example (a very poor one at that)
but I'm just saying how he's still just human and it's realistic the way he is acting.

I know lol thats why i never addressed the rest of what you said. You make sense more then most...which usually compromised with nothing but bitchen and complaining about sasuke getting screen time and acting emo.
