There has never been an instance in the manga where Itachi wanted to kill someone, so it's only natural that he wouldn't use the Amaterasu - which is pretty much a guaranteed kill when hit - to fight. This is, of course, with the Uchiha massacre aside, where we don't know what he used.

1) When hit it's not a guaranteed kill.

2) Itachi wanted to kill Madara, but failed.

3) So 3 times in total, and none worked. 1st time was sealed, 2nd he never meant to kill, 3rd was negated somehow.

It is a guaranteed kill, unless you know Madara's secret. And no, sealing will be of no use when you're being burnt by flames as hot as the sun.

^Sealing worked when Jiraiya used it on the Mountain toad whose body was burned by amatereasu.

So anyone has a guess on what impact the book is going to have on Naruto? Other than him and main char having the same name, my tiny little brain can't being to comprehend what use that book is going to be.

I think the difference is that the flames were in front of Jiraiya rather than on him burning him to a crisp.

I'm pretty much in sync with this guy.....

I don't see Naruto gaining anything technique-wise...

1 - He'll read Jiraiya's book and be inspired

2 - He'll read some side writing that maybe the fourth wrote... maybe even read his mother's name in there

I like #2, but it probably won't happen

I think he'll read the book and used the contents of the book as a motivation. He'll use the motivation for "dying will- no jutsu". You know the never give up-no jtusu that most shounen characters do when they are in a tight corner and are about to lose. plain and simple.

Since the book is about the guy that minato did name his son after, there got to be something interesting there.

But I think there will be something that can be related to his situation with sasuke, and will give him some revelation on the matter
Maybe a in dept of a Hokage, or I hope a bare minimum on his actions till now, and that would not be enough.

I'm betting the book show him how to fine-tune his kagebunshin and rasengan. Those are the only two jutsu he will ever need.
Then it tells him about how an Uchiha will one day rule all.
Naruto is then relegated to a side character.

Um, or did all this just happen? /rant

I'm actually damned cheerful about that book and 'that' jutsu. They were the only redeeming bits the chapter. Personally, I don't care about the hermit/frog training, or about Naruto getting more chakra. I just want to see a little bit of skill development.
