@Dante- I was thinking of how you were mentioning how weird it was that looking like a toad/animal suggested an imbalance in the ability to use senjutsu, but I then realized that some senjutsu users may have intentionally let the balance stay slightly out of whack to reap the benefits of being both human and their respective summon. While this isn't really inferrable in Jiraiya's case, it make's a lot of sense when you consider Kidomaru.

I was always wondering why the guy was able to retain his human form and transform into something spiderlike while using spider summons.
