Thread: Naruto vs. Sasuke: current status

well its along the lines of Kishi's favorite character is Sasuke, so he got him all stat + x hack

Perfect example: Imagine Harry Potter(though i hate it) where Ron(Sasuke) is better than Harry(Naruto) in every category..... impossible right?? well ask kishimoto.

My thoughts exactly. IMO the main problem is that Kishimoto is unwilling to give Naruto any actual new techniques or better battle tactics because then he won't be the underdog anymore. I don't mind Naruto being an underdog, But I don't like it if he's made an underdog in a cheap and artificial way like freezing his development. Case in point: After the time-skip, all Naruto had to show was Oodama Rasengan while Sasuke knew a dozen new techniques and Sakura had turned into a medical ninja with taijutsu skills. It shows that the timeskip was meant only for the development of Sasuke and Sakura, not Naruto. Kishimoto likely threw in Odama Rasengan only as an afterthought(as he couldn't have Naruto learn absolutely nothing).

Yes, Sugetsu was the one who brought Manda back. But if this translation is accurate, Sasuke 'used a jutsu to fly into a different space' when inside Manda. And Manda took some damage from the explosion but didn't die till until a while later.

But its still not a jutsu made by Sasuke, designed to travel between space and time. He mearly used The manda summon, in another way then it was supposed to be used. It was the only thing he could do to save himself, its not like he's goin to pull out another summon like manda again to do the trick. He doesnt have ANY time space jutsus.

Besides, I fail to see this thread as a Naruto & Sasuke comparison, more like a "lets trash talk Naruto again" thread. The comment made by dollarbill is a typical answer to persons who fail to see both sides, but instead keep to their narrow minded view on how Naruto should be like.

^ exactly.. they wanna trash naruto for not being emo,not thinking that hes cool, not fighting handicapped opponents,not given cheap powerups every second for doing nothing, and for not being a tool who is used by everyone he comes in contact with...
the status of a character and who is actually better are 2 very different things...

^ I wouldn't exactly say that because no one is making a post that simply says, "Naruto" or "Sasuke." If anything, they're bringing points up, respectively, from both perspectives of the characters.

If one of the two characters had an advantage over the other, I'd say it'd be Sasuke currently. I don't think it'd be necessary bringing up his strong points, since we obviously know what they are. However, Naruto could give Sasuke a run for his money, since he's picked up the kage bunshin learning/coping ability thing quite well. Doesn't mean it'll actually turn the tide of fight, if it were to happen.

Well if you want to go for applications of abilities so far as to what we've seen, i would say Sasuke has the advantage.

Sasuke has an extreme Advantage in Taijutsu, which is just powered up more with his Sharingan.

Naruto mainly uses Taijutsu, his rasengan can only be used in close range meaning he can only really use Taijutsu anyway.

This puts Naruto in an extreme disadvantage. Plus add the fact that Naruto doesn't want to hurt Sasuke, where as Sasuke couldn't care less about naruto.

Naruto's really only one up on Sasuke is that he has very intricate plans and he acts kind of like a juggernaut. So even though Sasuke can keep throwing stuff at Naruto, naruto can keep soaking it up as long as he uses his Kyuubi powers... the powers that he doesn't like to rely on...

Really no matter how you look at it, when it comes to Sasuke Vs. Naruto, Naruto has a bit of a disadvantage.

But if you want to look at it in the sense of a fight in which Naruto was fighting someone or Sasuke was fighting them.. It would probably be about even, although naruto would go all out and use his Special Rasengan which can annihilate anything it touches.. So for straight up power and stamina i think Naruto takes the cake.

I don't think naruto would die no matter who he faces, i think Sasuke is just smart enough to be able to escape if need be.

Well, we're not discussing who'd win in a battle or anything, that's already obvious. If Naruto comes off as short handed then yes, some would talk about how to fix that.

I thought Sasuke was kishi favourite character to draw... and based naruto off of krillin from dbz which was his favourite character...

You've got to be kidding. Sasuke, at that point, no longer considered Naruto a friend. Case in point: he tried to stab and kill Naruto 'at a whim' right there.

Some fans have speculated that the jutsu was Kirin(I believe he started with the same hand sign as Kirin).
