Thread: About the Rasengan....

Does Naruto decide when the rasengan/rasen-shuriken does any damage or not?
Cause in chapter 341, he makes a clone distract the enemy with a Rasen-Shuriken. And then attacks the enemy with the same Jutsu, with his real body.

Later we get to know that the jutsu damages Naruto(chapter 346), if so.. Why didnt the clone Naruto used first disappear because of the damage?

We can assume that the clone can withstand some damage before it disappears. Perhaps if he holds the jutsu long enough, the damage will be too great to withstand and the clone will die. Some time being a few seconds after the jutsu has been properly channeled. Another solution could be that the damage only occurs during impact.

To give naruto a reason not to spam futon rasengan and one-hit every enemy.
but come to think of it...why create futon rasengan to defeat sasuke and bring him back if hes going to get blown to pieces by it?

Even if the clone can sustain some damage, it needs a physical body to keep pushing the rasengan into the opponent, if the clone dissapear as soon it hits all the momentum will be lost..

We discussed this already too..

the damage the wind-rasengan does might be different from the usual damage that makes a clone dissapear. like kakashi or someone stated: the wind-rasengan even damages the target on a cellular level, so naruto might himself might be damaged by his jutsu at a cellular level too.

maybe damage on cellular level does not make a clone dissapear.

its even like a papercut just much more inevident. sometimes one does not even notice a very small cut, but the damage is still there.

PS: kishimoto kinda sucks for making us think about real physics and biology to be associated with a manga while he does what he wants anyways

He IS being damaged on the same level as his opponents, but he has the nine tail covering his healing.

But the damage is so intense that it severs the chakra connections completely so, he might lose the ability to even mold chakra from his hand..

The thing is.. think rasengan as a drill.. if you touch the drill point on the wall and turn it on, does it make a deep hole??

No it spins in place and go no where, you have from behind to ACTIVELY PUSH!!

The bushin takes damage when its doing the "pushing" and disappears! When that happens, its like you don't push the drill anymore, so you loose efectiveness and power..

thats why a bushin CAN'T use rasen shuriken efectively

exactly,the damage is only caused upon impact,where it causes cellular level damage(less to naruto than the opponent,cause only narutos hand is exposed to it)
a clone can hold the jutsu forever.just cant attack effectively
