    ^I agree with masterrabbit
naruto is not smart but he has some sort of skill.
skill that he can be defeated for the first attack, but the next attack will be different and it will connect, like his body is just doing its thing like by its own and creates an attack that will work in an instant.

no he has like THE worst taijutsu skill and no technique variation. he's got bash, punch kick, shuriken, Wind rasengan, rasengan, summoning and kyubi.

one long range attack thats not normal, and that doesn't endanger him to do it. YET it's the only one he has NOT done since shipuuden started, And thats the summoning technique =P Thats totally smart.

But the other one trick ponies like neji and lee, with only close range tatics, at least found ways around their shortcomings, the force palm, whirl, super long range byakugan and the release of the first gate, weapons skill.

The only reason he does win is cause he has the stamina and chakra to keep getting back up and spamming his attacks, with small variation until he eventually hits.

^yeah basicly the only way naruto wins is cause the story lets him, remember when he super rasenganed that 4 hearted guy? how was that possible, you would think someone with 500 years of experiance would count on a clone. he just fell for it like that. just cause the story need to show off narutos new lame jutsu

the only freeking ninja not to count on a clone in battle is only naruto himself

Whats up with the oversized signatures?

i love you black flash Muah !!!

    ^200+ not 500 years

oh yeah naruto only wins because the story lets him....i see it as him forcing himself to win unlike a certain someone who gets easy wins, like a diseased Itachi, elementaly disadvantaged deidara, and a decomposing orochimaru? i guess its ok to be a loser as long as you look cool while doing it.

all we know is that kakuzu fought the shodai....he could be as young(?) as 80.
and in that form we can assume that he didnt have enough speed in him to attack all the narutos on the battle field.its perfectly believable that he fell for it.sure the teammates reactions were exaggerated, but thats manga.
naruto is not smart per se,he just displays creativity when no one expects it.all that "number one loudest and most unpredictable ninja" crap.

if this spoiler is true,we'll never hear the end of the orange sharingan.

^as expected.. spoiler3 is confirmed, so it's true (although we still don't know what powers he actually split)

i also think that naruto's greatest disadvantage is his lack of intelligence (compared with almost any other character)
basically.. the only times he ever outsmarted his opponents was when he had to show off a jutsu OR just for comedic relief (fart-no-jutsu)
thats why i like the idea of bledge who suggested that the power itachi gave him was just knowledge (which is even possible if he genjutsu'd a bunshin)
i'm thinking along the lines of:

naruto: 'ah watch out! he's using XYZ-no-jutsu, it's weak against blahblah'
sakura: 'what!? how do you know that?!'
naruto: 'dunno... i just.. sort of know' xD

having transferred itachis knowledge on jutsus of all sorts could make up for his lack of intelligence (or even just specific knowledge on his upcoming fights with akatsuki..)

BUT i don't think it's something like that... because itachi says 'i hope you never have to use it' that sounds more like a trump card (probably creating a plothole.. because itachi should've encountered a bunshin) thus a jutsu, a seal, something that comes in handy when everything else fails but knowledge as a trump card? sounds unlikely

    Katastrophe.

Being a bunshin wouldn't be a problem, considering the strength behind kage bunshin no jutsu+ is that it proxies new information back to the original body once dispelled. It's somewhat strange in Naruto's lack of reaction from his host body once the bunshin dispelled, but maybe he didn't have time to process it or had it delayed somehow.

As for power, all of Itachi's transferrances so far have been experience-based ones...If he truly did give Naruto some special power, then it confirms the nature of KB for sure.

Itachi gave Naruto his crows! Mwahahahaha. Nah, just a joke. I too like the idea of Itachi giving Naruto his knowledge cuz it kinda make sense, you know.
