Thread: NARUTO is going to end?

OK, I just realized this after reading the recent volume of Naruto(vol 42)...

so, Kishi has start to draw the last part of the series.
I think it will go for 10-13 volumes more... (maybe it'll end at vol 50's), which is around 2 years and half... (vol 42 comes around 2 years after vol 32 in Japan)

so what do you think? Theories? Agree/ Disagree?



for me, I think I had to agree.... or should I say, I hope so...
I should stop filling my Manga racks with 40+ volume of Naruto and starts collecting other great series from great mangaka...

With resent chapters, more and more of previous unanswered questions have been answered. So I agree that it will end soon. Perhaps within 7-10 volumes. Its clear that there will not be a great foe as the Akatsuki, perhaps Kabuto in near future, if he isnt killed off very soon. I do hope that he will make an appearence efter the Akatsuki arc.

oh... I nearly forget about Kabuto...

Frankly, I wish you hadn't told me. Because I thought this manga would last a lot longer and would be a true 'epic' as Kishi promised.

Sure, 42 volumes is no push over, but currently it only covers 4-5 years of storyline in Naruto's life.

Oh well, I guess I'm one of those people rarely satisfied by endings.

Well, you have to consider that if Naruto were to continue after Akatsuki, what would make Naruto develop further?

Im sure it would be interesting to follow Naruto 10 years, or perhaps more, but Im pretty sure that if we ever were to see Naruto as a Hokage, it would be because of a time skip. I kinda got the feeling that we will never see him as a Hokage, but instead, Naruto is gonna have one of those endings, open to interpretations.

^The thing is, the whole ROOT attack held the potential for the disintegration of Konoha or the start of the next ninja war.

And, quite frankly, there are so many seeds that Kishi has planted that he could use to pull out more Deus ex machinas, but even without them, I could see how the current villains we see (Madara, Pain, ROOT) could end up taking a decade or more to deal with.

As for an 'open ending', I both sincerely doubt it and hope it doesn't happen because it's been stated as Naruto's goal since the FIRST chapter.

Naruto's goal is and always will be to become the Hokage. However that is a only the secondary goal. His true goal right now is to save his friends and defeat the akatsuki thats been after him for years. lol unlike Harry Potter who all he does is hide and fool around, Naruto trains to get stronger and further develop into a truly epic character.

Naruto becoming the Hokage at the end, it could happen, or not. It's been debated before. I guess only time can tell but the manga will be ending in less then a year.

Ninja war! Ninja war! down with konoha! down with konoha!

Sorry but since the last chapter I've been hoping a few things would happen...

Tobi and Akatsuki would be defeated and brushed aside (sorry but its old, move along) and this would establish Sasuke's will to destroy Konoha in replacement of Tobi.

Pan 4 years later and Naruto is 20 and a Jonin. Sasuke has teamed up with Kabuto and team Hebi to take down Konoha. Tsunade died 4 years ago in the Akasuki fight and was preceded by Kakashi who is now the 6th hokage.

For the first time in 4 years, information arises of sasuke's location and Naruto, Sakura, Sai and Yamato set out (i hate Sai but he's the only logical 4th person since he's on their team...)

The team reaches their location only to find out Sasuke is gone and return to their village...

...to find it utterly destroyed. Konohagurature has been wiped off the map with few to no survivors a la Berserk.

The mysterious destruction of konoha has caused a major destabilization in power amongst the nin countries and we have the 4th great ninja war which is being controlled behind the scenes by Sasuke, team hebi and Kabuto.

I can't help but agree with Urameshi more about the war

Well whatever...I've been praying for this manga to end for so long I suppose I deserve to have my hopes crushed.

Maybe this shows, he is running out of ideas.
