Thread: Old chapter release 363 question

I got this release from mangashare so if anyone else has a different translation, then lets hear it.

The last page of the chapter (17) has an "unknown" person (tobi/madara) talking to Pein/Pain. He says he has a "good feeling", and that Sasuke's sharingan will surpass Itachi's, also, that the "machine is ripened; his mind is made up". He then acknowledged Pein as the leader of Akatsuki and orders him to take on Naruto.

Now I think that this last portion shows that Madara is the "true" leader of Akatsuki. And that his reasons for Akatsuki are different from the others is shown in the next chapter is shown when he says that his power, the sharingan's true power, will be realized. I have read on this board that some think that Pein is the leader and I hope this clears things up.

I think that the other part is far more interesting. The fact that he says that he has a "good feeling" and that "Sasuke's eyes will surpass Itachi's" can be used to support two different ideas.

The first is that he believes that Sasuke will beat Itachi as he later states. "good feeling" could mean that he has a good feeling that Sasuke will beat Itachi. The statement of "Sasuke's eyes will surpass Itachi's" supports this as well. We assume that this means later on, but it could be as simple as him meaning that it will be soon.

These statements can also show that he planned to poison Itachi in the future. "Good feeling" can easily be interpreted as "I have a good felling because I'm going to poison the other fighter". Also, "Sasuke's eyes will surpass Itachi's" can mean that they will, but they haven't surpassed Itachi's eyes/abilities yet.

Either way, I believe this to be a play for Sasuke in some way. Thoughts/comments are welcome.

Its shows he planned to poison itachi?...didnt catch that one...dont combine theories and facts it annoying to read...

one thing im curious about is that madara(or whoever...) says that "Sasuke's eyes will surpass Itachi's"-->keyword=Surpass....if he(Madara or whoever...) had poisoned itachi how would sasuke be considered as supassing itachi in anyway?(unless Madara is going to personally train Sasuke....bleh.)

About the whole poisen thing, or at least when Tobi said he knew whos going to win the fight, well, i already knew that part. Itachi is way stronger and even when Zetsu said Itachi should be able to do what he should be doing but not doing but isn't.

Tobi is obviously the leader of the akatsuki. Pein is just the front. And obviously telling Pein, who is the figurehead of the akatsuki composed of dangerous basters to ever walk on earth tends to show who is the stronger. Not to mention Madara was the one who even created the Akatsuki in the first place leads to believe he "is" the leader.

Yeah, sorry about this post... it was horrible, but rabbit I don't get your question either. When you say that something will happen, then it implies a future tense. In terms of power Itachi was probably near/at his peak. Sasuke still has a lot of potential left. If Sasuke had been patient and waited longer then he may have not needed the alleged Itachi poisoning, but since Sasuke isn't patient he needed help. I guess I could simply say it this way. Sasuke will surpass Itachi, but he hasn't yet.

On one other retro note, Tobi never uses his sharingan around Deidara. No theories there, just funny that Deidara was teamed up with an Uchiha that he hates so much and never knew it.

I also think this interpretation is rather weak, as the poisoning comes out of nowhere in this context. Though, I too believe Itachi was poisoned.

As for surpass, I can only see the second and more common interpretation as viable ("Also, "Sasuke's eyes will surpass Itachi's" can mean that they will, but they haven't surpassed Itachi's eyes+abilities yet.") because the first meaning wouldn't cause a "feeling".

He was probably quite a bit past his peak, on the decline.
