Jiraiya alive? CH371 Inconsistancy

I was just flicking through the battle between Pein and Jiraiya and something really stuck me as odd. Now Jiraiya captured a ninja and was interogating him until he gave up on it, so he sends the ninja away inside the body of a frog and copys his appearance.

Now when Jiraya starts fighting Konan a very strange thing happens, when he uses a shadow replacement technique somehow his copied appearance turns into the real (?) ninja and Jiraiya stays to continue the fight.

Now it to me it seems really bizzare, unless there's some translation issues or Jiraiya meant the other ninja (the one turned into a frog) to be taken away. Now I don't really care if Jiraiya actually survives or not, just I wondering if anyone else noticed it and thought it was odd?

It just seems pretty likely that Jiraiya made some sort of clone of himself and is hiding in disguise as the interrogated ninja while his clone fought.

Any thoughts on this?

Okk, the first ninja got transformed into a frog got transfered to ibiki, like jiraya said.
He used a technique with the second one : he HIDE himself in the shadow of the captive and control him to infiltrate the village. Why? maybe it use less chakra than a clone. Maybe it keep the sent/ aura of the original.
But this is not a clone this is the real guy

here is no incosstancy, you just misunderstood the jutsu jiraya used

^yes you're right.

there were two ninja. jiraiya was referring to the other one (the one he turned into a frog), and jiraiya took control of the other (human-shaped) one. there wouldn't be so much significance put into him dying and sacrificing himself if it was just a bunshin.

and btw, your name is actually quite ironic...
